Finally finished the top today. I am making it for my niece's wedding in November. If I win the contest, she will just get it a bit late. The part with the templates did not go well. Wish there were paper piecing directions for that part. Anyway...

Finally finished the top today. I am making it for my niece's wedding in November. If I win the contest, she will just get it a bit late. The part with the templates did not go well. Wish there were paper piecing directions for that part. Anyway the top is finished, and I love the saying "Better finished than perfect!" I don't know how to attach pictures here or I would attach mine.

I took a look at the 'Traditional Cutting' instructions and there appear to be mistakes in C1, F, FR and the G's -- which have the asterisks that are probably supposed to be on F and FR.

Just curious, but no mention has been made about the AccuQuilt Bob (block on board) die of the Odette block. I’m curious if it is the SAME size as these. Or if there is something different about it. No matter I’m enjoying watching how it’s put...

Confused and cross-eyed here. I do have the book. Bought it in an LQS. Glad I drew the block into EQ. I'm making a test block by FPP. But first a nap!

For those of us making the Countryside quilt kit, I just noticed that the center block is different than the other 4 blocks. The green and red fabrics have been switched. So only 16 red Gs will need to be cut (not 20), and you will need to cut 4 green Gs for the center block. The B, F, D, and C1 will also need to be changed to the opposite fabrics found on the outer blocks.

I am an advanced quilter but I have to say, these directions are so confusing!!! Why can't there be templates included in the pattern so we can use peaky and spike rulers? I tried making one block and it just so frustrating!! So I'm giving up and moving on. But c'mon, you could have made this so straight forward!! We all have a drawer full of rulers that will work on the project if we just had templates or exact directions. Moving onto something else...

I understand your frustration Jane. Not possessing the sold out Odette book for template pattern ((and using my own RT fabric) I tried numerous times to devise a template G that when sewn together would match the colors on the center block…kept failing with the template size, and the matching was always off or triangle points cut off!!! Fortunately today, (8/5) the Odette books are back in stock,??????, so thank you TQS for prompt attention! Maybe soon there will be a jpeg template G available with the 1”square so one will know if printers produce a perfect template!!!??

Is there a template for Pattern Piece G? Ricky refers to using a 3 1/2 inch strip to cut Peice G using the template.

The template is on page 19 of the booklet, "Odette's Journey". We are using the 12"-G triangle as the template.
