*** It has come to our attention that the large charcoal gray background fabric in your kit is 0.5 inches smaller on one side than what’s listed in the pattern. Don’t worry though — this small difference won’t affect the final outcome of your project at all!
We know how much we all love things to be just right in quilting (looking at you, 1/4" seam!), but this time it’s a little more relaxed.
Please use the fabric as it is; your finished quilt will still turn out beautiful and just as planned.

Wishes - Lesson 01

Wishes - Lesson 02
It's time to get to work. Alex starts with cutting the shapes and stitching them down. NOT the fancy stitching, just getting it prepared. The fancy stitching comes later.

Today we pull the threads out of the box. How many plys do you need if you are pulling from your thread collection? Alex has some thoughts, advice, and tips on different threads. And we are going to start stitching.

Alex will demonstrate the Fly Stitch for her "Wishes" Wool Appliqué class. It is used as decoration on the stems of the plants. These stitches expand your skills and make your project more joyful.

Let's make the "Wishes" project look even more joyful. Here are two basic stitches, the backstitch and the blanket stitch, that need to be in your toolbelt. Alex then demonstrates how to create variations of the blanket stitch.
