Game On! - BOM 2026 - Month 1

All documentation for Month 1 of Game On! will be available here under the Patterns/Documents Tab.  All videos can be found under the Videos Tab.

Becky will be posting educational videos and Barbara Black will post to her blog additional information to support the creation of the quilt. In addition to this, Barbara will be hosting monthly Facebook LIVE / YouTube LIVE videos with helpful information for successfully creating the quilt. These videos will be found where appropriate in this classroom.

The Forum will have tips from other TQS members making this quilt and posting their progress.  Be sure to download and print the patterns each month - even if you are not making the quilt.

Game On!  patterns are available to all Star Members and will only be available on the The Quilt Show site through 2026. After that, no pattern downloads will be available.

Becky begins working on the first block demonstrating the process of foundation paper piecing, including tips on fabric placement, sewing, and trimming.

My comment was in no way SPAM! it was none other than a critique about the pattern I purchased for $270.
I guess it is high time that i discontinue my subscription to The Quilt Qhow.

My apologies, I must be missing something somewhere, for Block 1, I can only find cutting instructions for the solid fabric. Where do we find which fabric to use for the printed version?

I have the printed fabric version and under BOM Block 1 the cutting instructions for the Scrappy Fabric just says follow the cutting instructions above...(etc). I can figure out the colored fabrics to follow the similar color noted for the solids...

I can figure out the colored fabrics to follow the similar color noted for the solids but with all the whites with the different tone on tone designs, am I supposed to use whatever one I want or is there a specific one to use each time there's white fabric?

Hello! In the instructions, Becky suggests washing the fabrics prior to use. I typically do not wash my fabrics, what is your suggestion?

I don’t usually pre-wash my fabrics. Finished quilts are washed with color catchers. The Solid Kit fabrics that I am using are working beautifully.

There was shrinkage, sometimes up to 1/2 inch, will I still have enough fabric to finish this project? Is there extra wiggle room if I make a mistake?

The Supply list says "heavy duty", I don't know what thickness that is. I didn't use it.
