Homeward Bound - BOM 2023 - Introduction and Fabric Requirements | Coloring Guide

The Introduction and Fabric Requirements, along with the Coloring Guide for Homeward Bound, the 2023 Block of the Month by Sarah Fielke, are available here under the Patterns/Documents Tab.

Approx 70" square.

Each month the patterns will be posted on the site and Barbara Black will post to her blog additional information to support the creation of the quilt. In addition to this, Barbara will be hosting monthly Facebook LIVE / YouTube LIVE videos with helpful information for successfully creating the quilt. Those videos will be found where appropriate in this classroom.

The Forum will have tips from other TQS members making this quilt and posting their progress.  Be sure to download and print the patterns each month - even if you are not making the quilt.

Homeward Bound  patterns are available to all Star Members and will only be available on the The Quilt Show site through 2023. After that, no pattern downloads will be available.

Hey Barbara, are they out of the BOM fabric kits that were available according to the BOM reveal video from October/November?

Did anyone else get the kit from The Quilt Show that is missing the two 1/2 yards of Matcha and Shire for the stems? It states these fabrics are included in the kit, mine is missing these 2 fabrics. Very disappointing.

"I have used the same background fabric for the entire quilt. The background is given here by border in case you want to use a different fabric for each border, and then AGAIN by...

Am I missing something?

Under "Material Requirements" you state:
"I have used the same background fabric for the entire quilt. The background is given here by border in case you want to use a different fabric for each border, and then AGAIN by total amount if you want to use the same fabric at the end of the requirements. These are NOT two separate amounts; they are two separate listings for the same fabric. This will mean that if you add up all the amounts given by border, they will NOT add up, because they don’t factor in being able to cut multiple pieces for different borders from the same strip."

However, I don't see a listing of background fabric requirements for each individual border. Can you please provide this?

Hi. The last page of the Material Requirements document states under Stems:

.... If you are using your own fabrics, you will need two 1/2-yard cuts or 1 yard total for your bias tape stems...
