Garden Party Down Under BOM 2022 Month 10

I am behind on the quilt. I have a fear that I won't be finished by the time you guys take this stuff down. What will be available after December 31st? I will have printed off everything to construct the top but I won't be ready to quilt it. I sure can use the ideas you will have.

Also, I'd like to suggest the next BOM quilt you have, include a FB BOM page for us to interact. Part of the fun of a BOM is interacting with others making the quilt. I have had wonderful experiences with the BERNINA Sugaridoo QAL and the recent Moda Blockheads 4 BOM QAL. This comments section isn't conducive to that kind of interaction. Maybe that's not what you're going for or maybe there are only 10 of us making this but I miss the inspiring informal posts from other participants.

I made my appliqué blocks for this month by using the posted patterns. When I went to do the final trim, I discovered that I am to trim the blocks to 14 1/2” - but the pattern shows the finished blocks at 13 1/2”! Going by the posted appliqué patterns, I would have trimmed to (unfinished size) 14” x 6 1/2”.

There’s a discrepancy between the instructions and the pattern.

I am much more accurate using applique method for the diamond borders. I've had no trouble with layout or sizing. I usually glue up a strip of the diamond border and stitch it by hand while watching TV in the evening. I'm working on the last border and the duanting number of 80 diamonds went smoothly after all. I can't believe the last blocks are in sight, and that I did manage to keep up with each block of the month. My quilt is so colorful and I've enjoyed the process.
P.S. I did add a few butterflies and a few other little things to help make it mine.
