Okay here are some tips that I've developed for this particular month.
1. When you are cutting background cut two of piece J for each building.
2. Elongate the shadow (piece h) by about an eighth of an inch. That will give you a little wiggle...

Okay here are some tips that I've developed for this particular month.
1. When you are cutting background cut two of piece J for each building.
2. Elongate the shadow (piece h) by about an eighth of an inch. That will give you a little wiggle room when attaching it to the building.
3. on the piece that has the roof change the angle of seam number three to add approximately a shy one eighth inch to the roof at the top and taper it down to the bottom. It will allow for the shadow above it to line up perfectly with the roof. I hope this helps.

I got stuck on this set of tall buildings and quit for several months. It is August, and I think I can start on it again with more confidence. I just need to have a piece of time to work on it. We keep travelling by car to California and it's 806 miles one way, and I am a passenger, but can't sew in the car. I can take my projects and sew in the hotels. So maybe that's the answer. Too much to do. And I keep getting new fabric and sewing quilts since they are faster to finish. This seems to take all year, and I lost interest when my buildings started not fitting the tops. I have never had problems with paper piecing before, but somehow this one pattern really is not for me, the one building #1 right side is just not working.

Ok I struggled through attaching the small houses to the road around the compass and was able to get to lie relatively flat. Now I am making Tall Building 1 LS but its coming out backwards??? What did I do wrong??? totally frustrated please help

I have done two tall #1 bldgs Rt side. Each one is easier. The roof shadow is just not fitting the side shadow. And when I make it fit my roof has a tuck in it. Am I doing it wrong? I need to see the partial shadow roof section sewn please....

Background j for the tall building left side should be 2 pieces cut at 1 1/2 " square, not one.

I cant find pattern pieces "f" and "g" .....its part of the shadow that is in the roof???????? Am I making this one myself?

I have a black background and wonder about my shadows showing up. The black background has colored polka dots so maybe the shadows can be solid black? Any ideas would be nice before I start.

I think I was too impatient and did not wait for the tall houses instead I went ahead and made 32 small houses they looked just fine does it make a big difference??? I may need to take it all apart and make 2 Worlds!!????

The compass and the lower road are together and lay perfectly flat but the small houses and the upper road are unhappy when attached to the rest... Any clues for me HELP
