I am very far behind, but today I joined the upper road to my circle of houses and although it fit, it is definitely not flat. ?thoughts on what I might have done wrong?

I am behind too to other things in the way. Finishing up the roads and have them made. Sewed the inner road on, I do not like how the black is not black in kit material and how heavy it is compare to the material seen to. Do I iron the seam...

I am behind too to other things in the way. Finishing up the roads and have them made. Sewed the inner road on, I do not like how the black is not black in kit material and how heavy it is compare to the material seen to. Do I iron the seam toward the road or toward the compass. Can not find it mentioned anyplace. Thank You

When I sewed the upper road to the trees, the joining place of the road has missed the tree points by a consistent 1/2 ". I.E. there is

When I sewed the upper road to the trees, the joining place of the road has missed the tree points by a consistent 1/2 ". I.E. there is
1/2 " between the sewn edge of the upper road and the inner points where the trees meet. I know there should make a nice point there. I have re-watched the videos and reread the blog and cannot find a solution. The measurement of my center is 43.25 which is within the tolerance that Barbara has mentioned. I could just leave it and no-one would notice but I would like to see those lovely points meet the road. Any ideas?

I did not worry about making the road seams meet up with the points between the trees. For me it was more important to have everything lay flat. I have gone back to look at it again some of the points between the trees will line up with the seams...

I did not worry about making the road seams meet up with the points between the trees. For me it was more important to have everything lay flat. I have gone back to look at it again some of the points between the trees will line up with the seams on the road and other seam and points are up to a half inch off but others are less then a quarter inch off. In the big picture you can not tell if they line up or not, but if it does not lay flat then that may be more noticeable in the big picture when all is finished.

Has anyone tried connecting the upper road in sections, ie: the first template fit a pair of houses. I am thinking that it then would be easier to sew together, allowing for adjustment.

The instructions for this quilt are poorly written. If not for pictures I would not know what to do. The printing of the pattern is faulty. A person should be able to print anywhere from a backup download even if the download is on a memory...

The instructions for this quilt are poorly written. If not for pictures I would not know what to do. The printing of the pattern is faulty. A person should be able to print anywhere from a backup download even if the download is on a memory stick. There should not be any size differences. It is NOT that I need to push fit to paper or print actual size. The less than 1/32" that is off make a huge difference when it is assembles. This may be my last Block of the Month from The Quilt Show which means I save $49 a year in membership.
