Julie talks to you about reverse appliqué and grain lines for the top and bottom borders.

Making the patterns for the borders is also covered in detail with reverse appliqué used for the stars. The fused flowers are assembled on the release paper (an appliqué pressing sheet or a teflon sheet can also be used) and then placed and fused to the border. Julie shares a few reverse appliqué tips as it is used as a design option for the stars and leaves.

I'm just about to start on the borders, but can't find the measurements for cutting the blue strips. Can anyone help please.

Just finished all the alphabet blocks and now on to the borders. Using my stash for this but did have to buy border fabric. This has been a really fun quilt to make. Thank you Janet Stone. I have always admired your alphabet quilts in Houston...
