I'm trying to get my head back into this class and am rewatching the videos. I have done 2 blocks, like when this class first started....and I really can't figure them out! Is the 'background color' supposed to be the same fabric throughout in...

I'm trying to get my head back into this class and am rewatching the videos. I have done 2 blocks, like when this class first started....and I really can't figure them out! Is the 'background color' supposed to be the same fabric throughout in each block of the quilt? I probably should just begin again.......

I appreciate the knowledge and efforts of the instructor and have learned a lot about color theory, especially the opportunity to experiment with many colors; however the class has been strung out to far too many weeks and my time and interest...

I appreciate the knowledge and efforts of the instructor and have learned a lot about color theory, especially the opportunity to experiment with many colors; however the class has been strung out to far too many weeks and my time and interest have both expired. For the future I recommend simply recording the classes and addressing the questions in another manner. Life sometimes gets in the way of our intentions. Thank you.

This is a great series--we can always use more information about color.

Just one small note: The term is complementary (with two e's). Your email announcement misspelled the term.

I am enjoying the challenge of color theory. I tend to cool colors and modern so I have been fretting how to explore all the colors and enlarge my comfort zone. I had an eureka moment looking at the space above my large design wall. I could make mini block quilts utilizing all the colors cool and warm and decorate a blah wall. Also had thought about nice mug rugs for friends - but these mini block quilts will be a great reminder to use more of the color wheel. Any fabrics I just don’t care for will go into my charity quilts. Now I can just enjoy the process - thanks to Dee for sharing her knowledge and experience.

I finished block #1, by no means perfect, but I will persevere, huge glaring mistake, but in the scheme of things, probably won’t be that noticeable when finished & quilted. I’m not a novice at this, but sure don’t seem to improve. My block is...

I finished block #1, by no means perfect, but I will persevere, huge glaring mistake, but in the scheme of things, probably won’t be that noticeable when finished & quilted. I’m not a novice at this, but sure don’t seem to improve. My block is a tad under size. I’ve switched back to my #34 foot & keep the fabric to the left of the 1/4” on needle plate. Are we supposed to post a picture of our work? If so, I can’t find where to do that. I sure hope I can get better!

I have enjoyed getting my fabrics together and learning about color theory from Dee Christopher. I'm all ready to learn about analagous color but cannot find the recording for March 19! I cannot always look at it live and must rely on the recordings. I have made the first block of my quilt and several shoofly 3" blocks. I ordered the kit, book and color wheel from The Quilt Show. Now I can't go forward. It's hard to shift gears once fabric is all picked out and a quilt has begun, I know there have been several people still sick and I pray that is not the case for Dee. She has a very comforting voice for me to listen to. I hope people are just behind on the recording and nothing else is wrong.
