My Country House BOM 2015 - Month 08 - Churn Dash and Fusible Appliqué
Guest host Julie Cefalu shares how to do the 9-patch center of the Churn Dash block using strip piecing.
She demonstrates trimming half square triangles, which are the corners of the Churn Dash block. The side units were also completed using strip piecing. Once you have the three units (Center 9-patch block, four half square triangles, and the four side units) they can be pieced into the Churn Dash block. Julie demonstrates how she builds the pony with an appliqué pressing sheet. Once the components are fused together on the pressing sheet, they can be peeled off as one piece once cooled. The Pony is then ready to be machine appliquéd in place.
