Julie shares how to make the square in a square and use the diagonal line on a ruler to trim to the 2 1/2" unfinished size.
Nine of the units will make a 6" finished block. Julie uses a placement pin to ensure the the points are aligned and presses the seams open to ensure the block will lie flat. Julie shares a few tricks for fabric selection, and using the flip and sew technique to make the log cabin block. She uses the Bloc-Loc ruler to trim the half square triangles on the sailboat. Once the blocks are complete the letters are appliquéd in place.
