Terrie, the more I think about this, the more I wonder: Do they have those necessary openings at the front?? How are you going to incorporate these in the design?? Does that mean the rugs will have kind of pockets?? And does the construction have a 3-D element to it??
Also, have you considered using G-Strings when you run out of boxer shorts??
And, if I want to play, do I visit you and pick a pair of boxer shorts I like off your washing line??
I better go and get some sleep before I get over-excited by all this.

Terrie, Are you happy about having started this? I am imagining you being speechless.  :lol:Originally posted by LorchenTerrie, the more I think about this, the more I wonder: Do they have those necessary openings at the front?? I said I'd probably by new ones!!
Yes, Lois, I am a-l-m-o-s-t speechless, but really don't want anyone to take me up on the offer.
Yes, they do have openings... Anyway, I'd cut them into strips for log cabins, remember?
I'm not up to doing 3-D yet, but have been looking into Fabric origami and Japanese fabric folding - is that what you meant by 3-d?

Here it is, my beautiful mug rug from Ritzy:
Isn't it incredible? The hexies are really tiny, yet perfect. The colors are beautiful, as usual with Ritzy's work. The binding is satin stitching with a variegated thread. I obviously need to work on my satin stitching because I've never been able to get mine to be so smooth and even.
Thank you so much, Ritzy!

I really like the small hexies(I clarified this in case Lorchen isn't in bed yet  ) but I haven't really come up with what to do with them.Originally posted by golfjaneOk, I'm with Vicki...got up of the floor and am trying to control my laughter! Anyway, just put in an order for 1/4" hexies pre-cut papers and acrylic template to match. Have been making 3/4" hexies off and on, but want to try the small ones too. Ritzy made me do it!!

LOL My husband wanted to know if the mug rugs would have little boxer shorts on them--I told him I wasn't sure. I'm sure he hasn't thought in terms of 3-D and openings

I don't know either Ritzy, I just like having something to take along that I can do by hand. You're putting them to good use right now, though. When I was on the PaperPiecing site, there was a picture of a king-sized quilt made with the 1/4" hexies--I could not believe the patience it had to take to make all of those. Wow was all I could say :shock:Originally posted by ritzyI really like the small hexies(I clarified this in case Lorchen isn't in bed yet  ) but I haven't really come up with what to do with them.Originally posted by golfjaneOk, I'm with Vicki...got up of the floor and am trying to control my laughter!
