Hello everyone and worldwide Fabriceers!! I've just been washing drying, starching and pressing a whole batch of batiks in my knickers bags. This place has a lot to answer for! I've never pre washed in my life!!

My right hand thumb pad, you know the one that you seem to use most often when sewing, has been recovering from a nasty cut and a deep rose thorn that has left the tip in and so today I decided to add to the collection and burn it on the press. Well that's three things.

We have our Christmas picnic tomorrow and I was told on Tuesday that there is a competition to make a bag for it. Any shape, type or size. So I did. Pic in profile.

And before you all ask, the Christmas picnic is in the British monsoon season as opposed to the circus of the 'Christmas Do' one because it's more fun.

Saturday we have our Village Fete. Joy.

Sunday we have the Pedal Car Grand Prix. Fun!

Hope you all have something to look forward to this week end.

Amo, hope your poor thumb recovers quickly! It sounds like you are going to be having loads of fun!

The thumb is healing Maggie but I have a large collection of thick skin healing bits which make feeling a needle virtually impossible. Thank goodness Bob the Bernina doesn't mind.

Thank you Lorchen. The colours in the photo are a bit flat though. Perhaps I should convince Gregory to come over for a visit.

                  Amo,

Ouch to the thumb! But the bag is beautiful.

BTW, you're not far away from me, in not-so-sunny Dorset, today at least.

YAY!! I took the hard pad off my thumb last night and out popped another 2mm long piece of rose thorn and my thumb doesn't hurt any more!! Why are the little things so irritating! And I can't recommend Burn Eze enough for stopping the pain dead for the burns.

Slightly sunnier Dorset today but spending most if it over in Hampshire. I'm down at Pauline's on Saturday with a miniatures workshop. Nice shop down there. Have you been up here to Hanson's?

I've known Pauline for years and was in the shop today picking up some thread and while I was there signing up for a couple of workshops. And yes, I've been up to Hansons too. I love their selection of fabrics, and the bargains they tuck away at the back. Very useful for quilt backs and the like.

Do you remember Patchworkers' Paradise in Blandford? That's a shop I miss.

I looked and looked for the one in Blandford, just 7 miles away, to discover they are now closed TV shop! Bummer !!

Which workshops did you sign for? I'm doing the one on Saturday on Miniatures and one in September with Jenifer Trollope, the aquarium one.

Lorchen, we did a reccie of where it was a couple of weeks ago so I'd know where I was going and where to park etc and I must admit the reception was very warm and welcoming and I'm looking forward to next weekend, and a few more!!

How's the thumb now Amo? It should get better now you've got the thorn out. Isn't Becca's Emporium somewhere down that way, or have I got my geography upside down? I think I need a trip down south, there are shops I've never been to

                              Hello everyone,

Hope it is alright to join you now & again. I'm in Lincolnshire and about 18mths in to patchwork. I've almost completed my sampler quilt which I have done with Lynne of Wisteria Patchwork in Swinderby. I did it to learn lots of techniques, both patchwork & quilting. I also go to the patchwork retreats at an hotel in Grimsby as often as I can. Bliss - someone cooks, someone makes our beds and all we do is sew and chat from mid-day Friday to Sunday late afternoon!

I had a look at some of your work!Ooooh! Will I ever be able to do anything like that?

Hi Majack and welcome! Great to have another from the UK That retreat sounds lovely. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Ali, thumb is great now!! Becca's is down this way. A tiny loft shop crammed to the rafters!! Hanson's is having a sale  and another fabric shop over Southampton way is sadly closing down and I can't get to it in time

I'm sat here at the moment trying to calm the dog down. We've just had a peacock land on the roof just outside my study.
