Creativity is so often messy! Hang in there. You'll find it. Maybe you should drill a hole in it and hang it round your neck.

You wouldn't want to see mine - I recently reorganized and it is all neat and tidy.... boring!

I took over my son's bedroom - he joined the Air Force last summer. I put risers under the bed which gives extra storage under and then put a tabletop on top of the bed which made it a good height for cutting and ironing. When he comes home for a visit, I can take the tabletop off the bed and prop it against the wall. I washed all my fabric stash - took about two weeks! Didn't bother to iron it, just folded. Organized the fabric by color except for baby/juvenile prints, Christmas prints, etc. and fabrics already grouped into a project. There is also a separate bin for pre-cut fabric - charm squares, layer cakes and jelly rolls. I enjoy watching the video tutorials on Missouri Star Quilts which show lots of patterns using pre-cuts. I get the pre-cuts when they are Daily Deals on MSQ, really good discounts and flat rate shipping.

Here's my work area right now. Not too bad.....

Now I'll step back to show the table to my left.

That's what most of my space looks like.....

My hubby says my sewing room is "in a state of creative ferment" (almost all the time). I have Lorchen's mug rug on the outside of the door "Beware: Serial Quilter". My grand kids know not to even go near there!
