        Wendy, congratulations on having the days for yourself. I know you will make good use of them and I look forward to the masterpieces that will come from your hand (and with a little help from Ingrid). I also know yiou will feel very busy in a short time. That seems to happen every time someone is retiring

          I'm so happy for you, Wendy! More time to quilt~ could anything be better?? Terrie, I thought Rosemary's suggestion for your husband was brilliant. Ask him to do something he'd rather not...he'll soon find something he likes to do instead. Diabolically fabulous, Rosemary! Heeheehee!

                  Hi Jolene, I'm sorry it is confusing because we are easily distracted and start talking about pot holing and such.

                  The instructions are on the first post so I'll change the title that was from the old forum.

                  We are making challenge quilts every few months from a given theme and they should be a secret until revealed. Then they are shown on here and we save them in the album on our group by the same name. A bit more explanation there. Here's a link https://thequiltshow.com/community/member-groups/viewgroup/100006-chinese-whispers-for-anyone

                  Please join in, the current theme is 'inspired by Libby' to be completed for reveal on March 1st. We were doing them 11x7 but now it can be any size. No prizes just fun and companionship

                    Pot holing is entering dark confined wet slimy places with a rope, torch and nice young man. Not for the faint hearted.

                          Potholing = from Wikipedia

                          Caving — also traditionally known as spelunking in the United States and Canada and potholing in the United Kingdom and Ireland — is the recreational pastime of exploring wild (generally non-commercial) cave systems. In contrast, speleology is the scientific study of caves and the cave environment.[1]

                          The challenges involved in caving vary according to the cave being visited, but — in addition to the total absence of light beyond the entrance — often include the negotiation of pitches, squeezes,[2] and water hazards.[3] Cave diving is a distinct, and much more hazardous, sub-specialty undertaken by a small minority of technically-proficient (and daring) cavers.[4] In an area of overlap between recreational pursuit and scientific study, the most devoted and serious-minded cavers become accomplished at the surveying and mapping of caves and the formal (though usually private) publication of their efforts.

                          Caving became widely popular in the 1940s and '50s when a substantial caving community developed in the United States. In recent decades, the pursuit has changed considerably due to the availability of modern protective wear and other equipment. Sometimes categorized as an "extreme sport", it is not commonly considered as such by long-time enthusiasts, who may dislike the term for its connotation of disregard for safety.[2][5]

                          Many caving skills overlap with those involved in mine and urban exploration.

                            Pot holing is as Wendy says...usually in dark...wet...difficult to get to caves probably wearing a wet suit, just the thought of it makes me shiver as I don't like closed in dark places. :sick:
                            So Wendy I think I'll stick to the hang gliding or going for a ride in a balloon.
                            Hope where ever you are the weather is kind. I can see a bit of blue sky...hope it lasts.

                              I know spelunking. I think I'd rather quilt.

                                I used to love going to caves, but now the only cave I go to is my basement where my sewing/quilting space is. I do have light from windows and doors when it is sunny (like today). I also have plenty of electric lighting. I am with you Lois, I'd rather quilt.
                                I will go to my cave as soon as I get the dishes washed and water the chickens. My DH usually does that before he leaves for work, but with the cold weather the water freezes before the chickens are off the roost. That leaves the job to me.
