Is the velum sold on the Quilt Show the thinnest Varity?

I tried a sample of a vellum block with some vellum paper that I had. While sewing thru it is not a problem, tearing it...

I have the Autumn kit and have 27" of fabric

Is there enough binding fabric to cut it on the bias? I like stripes on the bias....
