I have finished the top for my friendship HST's exchange. I used the "Garden Path Quilt" design from Edyta Sitar's book with a different colorway. I would greatly appreciate any input on how to quilt this quilt.Edyta in her book says vine pattern was quilted over the entire top. I have a longarm machine but am a beginner, so any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Your quilt is so lovely! I am sorry I don't know enough about quilting to make any suggestions I just wanted to say how striking your quilt is.

Radquilter, your quilt looks wonderful!! Because your fabrics are mostly sort of dark values, and they aren't solid colors, your quilting is not really going to show up much. If you are a new longarmer maybe you can select a pantograph that will give you the amount of texture that you would like and just do that all over it. That will be very forgiving and still give you wonderful texture! I would choose a variegated thread with great colors including both darks and lights. Maybe something like King Tut Old Giza?

Nice quilt top! If you are looking for a panto, take a look at Java or Kay's Shamrocks.

So I've been getting a few blocks done here and there. I need more teal ones and some setting triangles. I'm thinking it looked better in EQ7 but I'm committed and still thinking it will be done in a month or so. I'm just grabbing out of the pile and putting them where they land. I'm surprised at how few of the fabrics I've had in my stash.
