What have you gotten sewn so far?

I was one of the lucky ones whose HSTs were returned quickly. I exchanged 615 HSTs and quickly got them pressed open and the papers removed.
Tonight I finished sewing the 76 pinwheel blocks and 4 diamonds that I need for my planned border but after seeing the photo, I think I'll change the corner diamonds into pinwheels.

I'll take a break tomorrow and work on the 9-patches next week.

    What are you creating????

Those pinwheels look great! If I was doing pinwheels I wouldn't square mine up first either. At least not until I had them sewn into groups of 4. I don't expect to get any sewing done on mine for awhile.

I vote for pinwheels in the corners as well. It will be a lovely quilt.

I liked this Mountain Top pattern (from Laundry Basket Quilts) as soon as I saw it and when the HST exchange came up I knew it would the perfect opportunity to get a bunch of these done. I received 504 and had to make another 200 something, but having the bulk of them done gave me the impetus I needed to sew the rest. The X across the blocks is 2" wide, and they will have that same 2" sashing around the outside of the blocks.

Just wonderful! Must be something about Edyta's patterns - I love them all.

Beautiful job Shawn and Margo. I am slowly pressing my HST and starting to separate the paper. I am finding it hard to separate the names to the fabric. Don't get me wrong, the paper comes off very easy, but I don't want to separate who sent what. I am thinking of taking photos in batches then somehow adding it to the back of the quilt. Still working on the logistics.

Shawn, I like your blocks. I also like your Birds in the Air quilt on your profile--another good use of HSTs!

Shawn...love your hst blocks. The Mountain Top quilt is the one of Edyta's that caught my eye when she was on the show, and the one I thought I wanted to make. I like the contrast of the strong light "X" and the "border" of the same fabric around each block. Your blocks are looking great!
Seeing your blocks has confirmed that Mountain Top is the quilt I want to make. Thanks for that!

Maybe I'll post pics of mine here... in about six months.

Question? What size are you making yours? I'm just wondering how many more hst's I need to make. (I guess I know the answer to that...lots of them!)

                              Thanks, everyone, for the compliments.

Makesgeese, I am making mine the size in the pattern, 79" x 94". It takes 720 hst's. I got 504 from the exchange and then had to make the other 216, but it wasn't bad at all. I made them by pairing light and dark squares, drawing a diagonal on the back of the light square and then sewing a quarter inch on either side of the line, so I ended up with pairs that were the same, but that's fine with me.

Lorna, thanks! That Birds in the Air quilt is one of my favorites.
