Agree, makes it a fabulous red quilt!

Nice projects everyone. Margo, I also like the red border. As for me this is how far I have gotten with my sewing. I decided to try this method of piecing where you chain sew without cutting your threads between rows and it is working out beautifully. If anyone else wants to try, I sewed vertically row 1& 2, then added row 3 and so on. When you are done the rows are already attached to each other and ready to sew horizontally. In the picture, the first 7 rows are completed and the rest are attached by seam threads ready to go.

Here is the center of my SoTTT quilt. What a lot of fun!
Many thanks to all who made this possible.

Nan, how about the red border and then the pinwheel border? Both would look great. Cheryl and Peggy, yours are looking wonderful!
This is really fun to watch everything emerge.

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions.
The pinwheels I like but I don't know if I have the stamina to make them - each section was a 1" finished HST
Margo's wide red border looks good - it balances with the centre I think. Also I have always liked Margo's red version of Alex's HST quilt mentioned on another link I think, and on Margo's profile.
I have also been thinking of trying some machine applique so this would be ideal because my quilting wouldn't be up to scrutiny on a very visable border :!: I am a straight-line-walkingfoot with a little meandering - kinda gal.
However it will all have to wait because I am going to St Andrews for a few days with DH. Time to think it over and plan.
            Thanks again to all,
            Nan in Scotland

Love that Jilly! It looks like a quilt I could accomplish with the number of HSTs I have (280). I'm more than willing to make more, but I want this quilt to be mainly composed of HSTs I got from the SOTTTs...

Here's what I have so far. The basic top completed, and thinking I'll do the zig-zag border. I still have plenty of HST's left, with more in the clearinghouse exchange. I apologize for the fuzziness of the picture. I've been futzing with it for too long and have been unable to get that pinking shear look off of the edges. Edited - hmmm, the picture looks better now that it's posted. :x
