More than I originally planned... They are so fun to make and I thought it would also fun to recieve more HST's! For me sewing was easy, but I made mistakes on cutting. I will keep those bad cuts, they are usable, but not sendable (did I just invent a new word..? sendable?) I think I will get everything ready for shipping in two weeks, so earlier than last date.
It is good to hear that Australians are OK.
By the way, what is Groundhog Day? :?: (We don't have cyclones and Groundhog Days here in Finland, only lot of snow and cold..)
Satu
P.S. Maybe I have to get that cool looking signature some of you have on your posts.
Here is the definition of Groundhog day.
"Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated on February 2nd in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter-like weather will soon end. If it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will continue for six more weeks."
Not much science involved here. I don't know how accurate it has been. I don't know if you have groundhogs there but you can look up Groundhog day on the internet and find a lot of information.
We must be getting some of your snow this year. I have never seen so much snow in one year. I am originally from the Southern United States but have lived in the Northeast for 26 years and this is by far the worst winter for snow I have ever seen.
Look forward to your HST.

I may be speaking out of turn here, but as much as Sue would appreciate your kindness, I think this is adding more work to Debbie and Clara that they aren't going to need since they may already have as many as 378,000 HSTs to sort through.

Sisterhood Update Regarding Mailings, Thursday, Feb. 3:
As of today, I have received 22 packages containing 6520 HTSs. All have been for the U.S. so far, but I am expecting one from Suffolk, England any day.
Remember to send me an email when you mail your package. If you don't, I won't be able to notify you went it arrives. Also, please, please, please remember to add the number of HST's on the outside of the mailing envelope/box along with your ScreenName.
Various sized envelopes are working great and they are preferrred over boxes, so please consider that when you're ready to mail. FYI: An envelope received today was a 12"x9" cardboard Priority and it comfortably held 700 neatly packaged HTS's. Since there will be over 600 packages received, the more compact envelopes will be much easier to manage. And it is extremely important that you make sure that your return envelope/box is sufficient size to send them back to you.
Right now, I'm only receiving about 6-8 packages a day, but as time progresses, there will be many, many more per day, so it would help me tremendously if you would follow the guidelines very carefully when your ready to mail.
Thank you so much for your help with this,
Debbie

Thanks, Margo, and you're not speaking out-of-turn. That is very kind of you, Judy, but as 'cool' as it would be to have Sue as a SoTTTs member, she isn't participating in our exchange and we wouldn't have any way to get the HST's to her.

MORE VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING POSTAGE:
When preparing your return envelope or label, use your own name and address as the 'Sent From' address rather than my P.O. Box. First of all, if you did not include enough postage, then the P.O. will come back to your to pay the extra and secondly, the P.O. Box will be closed once all the HST's are received and there won't be any way for the P.O. to collect money and who knows where your package will wind up.
Thanks again,
Debbie

This is very exciting news...Alex Anderson is joining our exchange. She will be making enough HST's so there will be one for each member.
She said she would write "Alex' on each of the triangles, on the fabric rather than on the paper, but she would like to know if that's OK with everyone.
Hmmmm...I can't imagine we're going to have anyone say 'NO'  , but she's leaving it up to you!! What do you say???
I say Welcome, Alex and sign away!!!

Wow, I would love to have a signed block from Alex (and Ricky too) . I decided to cut a second strip unit, pin and laid it aside of all the fabrics I am using so when I finish I will have a set of all the fabric and combos that I send to trade. That way I will start with double the triangles. I'm working hard, will have mine ready to send soon. This is exciting. From south Alabama, where our cold night was 39.

I'm very excited to be doing this and very thankful for all you are doing to make it happen. I was wondering if there will be a post/blog with photos of all the quilts that result from this endeavor. Wouldn't that be fun? (or am I such a newbie that I missed a post regarding that question) Once again, Thank you!!

It would also be nice to TQS to do a slide show once a lot of pictures start coming in.
