The shuttle had better stop at the Hyatt. That is where I am staying and the shuttle is my only form of transportation. All the info I have says that the shuttle runs to all the hotels listed in the class cataloge. I am soooooo ready mentaly for Houston. I still have some gathering of supplies to be physically ready. See you all there. Betty Ann

Margo,
Thanks for the map and information on the shuttle. How late do they run? With over 50 of us at dinner, I have a feeling it'll be a few hours before we get back to our cars.
Betty Ann, I know exactly what you mean about being mentally ready for Festival! Now all I have to do is pack. Since we're stopping in Atlanta on the way down and Sevierville, TN on the way home, I feel like I have to pack for at least 2 different climates.
BTW, do Alex or Ricky ever make an appearance at the restaurant?

Mary Jo here is some info about the dinner:
The dinner will be at Don Patron Bar and Grill, 500 Dallas. This is where we ate last year and the food was marvelous! We don't have to worry about having enough room at Don Patron's since they have a huge room for us. We will have the beef and chicken fajitas with all the trimmings again. The meal with tea, tax and gratuity will be $22.00 per person. Please bring cash in the exact amount as I will need to pay in one lump sum. Mixed drinks will be available at the bar. The reservation is under Myers.
Please let me know if you will be attending at mailto:[email protected]
Your confirmation will be my reply to your email. So if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, please send a second email.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.

OK, for anyone who has not been to the Festival before, I can predict that just looking at the building will be intimidating, so here is a general lay-out so you can get your bearings when you arrive. The IQA layouts (http://www.quilts.com/fqf11/info/floorplan.pdf) are great, but the way they are presented is somewhat confusing. I've tried to cobble together a floor plan of the ground level for you so you can at least get to the TQS booth easily. Gotta have priorities, right!!
As you come up to the convention center, the entire length of the bottom of this lay-out is the front of the building.
Make your way to the main entrance which is EXHIBIT HALL "C" which I've marked with a red star. If you don't already have your tickets for entry into the show, you can purchase them at the booth to the left of this entrance.
When you come into the main entrance, if you need to pick up pre-purchased tickets for the show and for classes, you will need to ride the elevator (just inside these doors) up to the second level to pick those up then ride back down to enter the main floor.
When you enter the show floor look up towards the ceiling near the center of the room and you will see LARGE numbered signs which designate the row numbers. Head for row # 700. The booths are all numbered and you are looking for the TQS booth (714, 716 & 718) on your left, which I have circled in red.
You can see that the food court is all the way to the left, vendors in the middle and quilt exhibits at the far right. Pace yourself!
See you soon!

For anyone who hasn't gone before. Bring good walking shoes! THIS THING IS HUGE!!!!
For those of you who have a hard time walking, they rent scooters. Mom has to get one every year.
But you will love every inch.

Thanks, Margo! I did pull last year's floorplan, and have been working from that. The only difference is a few booths way at the back left side near the restrooms. All this time I have thought there were always 2000 numbered cubicles. I just realized each row actually stops in the 60s. So, there are a few hundred less cubicles than I thought. Whew! Now I can slow down, since there aren't as many to see!

Does anyone know if they collect sewing supplies that we would donate at the IQF? Maybe our quilting sisters in Joplin, Mo. could use a replenishment of what was lost. I am asking because I have discovered I have alot of things I would be glad to bring & donate if they could be used and transported to them. Maybe smeone is driving from there?
The excitement of the IQF is growning I just keep tellingmy self to sleep quick this week cause next week I will need the extra winks!
