Can you tell I'm excited? I'm getting to the point where it's just about all I think about.
I always like to take the show booklet and go through the list of vendors and circle the ones that I definitely want to visit. Then I circle their booth numbers on the map of the vendor area so that I can be sure to visit them. That will also help you get a feel for the lay-out of the vendor area and see where the TQS booth is so you can get to it every afternoon at 1:00!! The isles are marked with GREAT BIG NUMBERS hanging overhead so it's easy to follow the map, but their are so many vendors that it's real easy to forget where you saw something you liked. So....if you see something that you might want to come back to, make a note of the booth number!! Experience speaking here! DUH!
I also like to use the show booklet to get a feel for the layout of the quilts. The big winners are usually along the front isle, but there are always lots of special exhibits that are well worth the time to check them out. Be aware that in some of the special exhibit areas they do NOT allow photographs, so just be aware and look for signs restricting photos.
Also, some vendors will allow photos in their booths, and some do not. It's always a good idea to ask first!
You are going to have such a good time!!

Houston time is coming quickly. I am busy checking my supply lists and making piles in my studio. Mostly just pencil and paper. I have so many classes and lectures for which I have high hopes that I will be inspired and motivated. I planned some time to be "a fly on the wall" near my own quilt. This is always an enlightening time. It is fun to see people see ones work. I look forward to the dinner to put faces with the folks I've met on TQS. The end of October will be here soon!!! See you all there!!!!! Whoo Hoo.

I won't get to dinner--I work for quilts Inc in the education department and have duties that night. But I'll be working the line for Ricky's show saturday night so look for me and say "hello". I always have my name badge on. I hope to get to the booth at 1 pm but don't usually make that either. I will definitely be at the booth preview night! Mostly, I'm on the 3rd floor, in the education office or zipping from one event to another. I'll be looking for all of you.

Barb, every day at 1:00 there is a brief "Meet & Greet" at the TQS booth. It is so much fun! We all gather quickly for hugs and a group photo, then we are all off again in separate directions! Please try to make it any day that you are not in a class or have another commitment!

Does anyone have the booth number yet???

Barb, The Quilt Show booths are 714, 716, and 718. Ricky's is adjoing, in 720 and 821, on an end. All of the vender's booth numbers are posted now on the http://www.quilts.com. I have scoured it for my favorite venders, and now have a list of all that I want to visit. I tend to get caught up in the excitement, and it is easier for me to do prep work in the quiet of my quilting room, ahead of time. Also, I had an unmarked floor plan from a couple of years ago, so I pulled it and it is now all marked up and highlighted with my favorites. (Booth numbers/floor plans remain the same each year) I'm READY!
