    Hi everyone --

I finished, well mostly, piecing the rhapsody quilt I'm making for my friend. I tried a couple of techniques I hadn't tried before, trapunto and bobbin embroidery, and found I like doing both. I'm still not sold on the background color, although I don't have any other ideas at this point, so I decided to take a break from it for a few days and let it stew. I posted a picture in show and tell. -- Deb

Deb, I like your background color, it is in the center of the quilt and some in the outer areas. I love, love your dark blue hearts. In the photo the stitching in the turquoise areas doesn't show very well, not enough contrast, and looks like large areas of one color. Possibly if you could put some background color in the turquoise areas it would bring a continuity all the way through the quilt and make a difference. Keep up the good work

I had to smile at the quilts shown in your profile.

You clearly are drawn to circular patterns. Even your appliqued flower has two distinctive circular (or oval) shapes to it.

Sometimes, we just like what we like and we can't deny it!

                    Your quilts are beautiful!

                    Congratulations on Paducah!

                      Hi All --

I recently entered my first show and I'm proud to say that my Indian Summer rhapsody quilt won first place in it's category. I was so pleased that I decided to enter it into the Mancuso tri-state show and it won the judges choice ribbon. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would do so well! Thanks to you all for your feedback and support. Deb
