I also head to Doughty's at every show!
Brilliant deals on wadding too. I went to one of their fabric sales in the spring and even DH was staggered by the queue of ladies laden with bolts fo fabric! Their online sales service is also good - very fast delivery!
Marianne, you'd enjoy the displays at St Fagan's National History Museum of Wales.

I will that a go when I am a bit more conficent and when I am sure I can cut properly. These stripy fabrics would make a gorgeous lapquilt but will take a lot of careful thinking so I get the stripes to go in the right direction and on grain. Scary :roll:Originally posted by ReetzbobeetzMarianne, I think that starching the Kaffe Fassett fabrics would make them easier to handle.

Ah yes, wadding and what to choose is next in my learning curve. Good to know there are bargains to be had so I can try out a bit of this, that and the other. So far I have only used pure cotton and cotton flannel in the samples I have done.Originally posted by tigsownerI also head to Doughty's at every show!

We are very much looking forward to re-visiting St Fagans. We went there 22 years ago and had a lovely time so we will pop out there when there's a whole day of dry weather which has been scarce around here since we arrived  It is on the "task" list after half term.

  :lol:Originally posted by anne1Dry weather in Wales! When?
As soon as I cross the bridge the heavens open.

I remember on holiday in Herefordshire one time and we were at a small stone bridge (cannot remember the river, probably the upper reaches of the Severn) and the river was the boundary between England & Wales. It was bright sunshine at one end of the bridge & raining at the other end - guess which was which
