Hi Peeps! It's quiet in here!!

Hope you're all OK in the storm. Hubby and I were in bed at 3am this morning after a huge branch came off the Atlas Cedar in the front garden, reliving October 1987!!  Still, as far as I can tell at the moment, and it is still dark outside, there's no damage to the house, cars or aminals!

Australia was great but I'm struggling with the jet lag now. Tummy is suffering a bit not knowing when it's to be fed or not!!!

I have another workshop today with the wonderful Jennifer Trollope http://jennifertrollope.com/about/ with her Revelation Burning technique. Can't wait! Will fill you in later.

          Hope you're all stitch happy!

Thanks Pam. Beautiful cedar now down from 60 foot to about 30 foot having lost another two branches. We've figured the first was the crown and the rest has followed. It's TPO'ed too so will have to contact the council. We've moved the cars out of the way in case the rest has an urge to fall in the night!! I hate to see these majestic gentlemen brought to their knees!

The workshop was wonderful. A great technique mastered by Jennifer. I will put a pic up when I have completed. I found some other fabric to give this a go with. It's Christmas themed but having it finished by this Christmas could be the problem!!!!

I'm sorry that the South is suffering again. Here in the Midlands we have had strong winds and a lot of rain, but little damage. But the way it keeps raining I'll need a rubber dinghy to get to work on Monday.

I'm sitting here with an idotic grin on my face. Pam has been an absolute darling and picked up a complete stack of Whisperings FQ for me from Alex and John in Houston, and this baby is now at home here with me, waiting to be used. I think I'll make it a priority over the Christmas holidays. So, big, big thanks to Alex and John, and to Pam - brilliant teamwork!

Amo, I'm glad that you're home and that you had a good time at the workshop (one day I will be able to do one with Jennifer Trollope, but I never seem to be able to make it happen). I'm also really sorry about the damage.

Friday night was truly dreadful here too. We live on the top of a hill and it's always windy, but I nearly got blown off my feet on the couple of occasions I had to venture out. Thankfully there doesn't seem to be any damage apart from our bird table ending up on the ground, but there's lots of flooding around. I'm grateful that a few weeks ago some of the old trees on the road to Dorchester were cut down.

Lorchen, you lucky thing. What a wonderful pick-me-up for you. I very much look forward to getting to stroke the finished article - please!

Weather is awful here in Wales again. Winds are really high got blown across the campus when i ventured out lunchtime.
but i bought myself a quiting magazine so i can settle down tonight after work for a good read.

East Midlands has also had very strong winds all day, but fortunately no rain.

                        We finally did it!!!

OH said it was now or never this morning so we went up to the Radstock museum to visit the show. After a bit of jigging and more than a few texts with Lynn we met up at Midsomer Quilting shop, http://www.midsomerq.com/ , had a little natter, a demo of the Gammil burbling it's stuff and some buying therapy. Unfortunately Lynn was called away and a late afternoon with some more in depth nattering over some quilts wasn't to be. We'll just have to save that one for another time. The weather wasn't the best but OH took a quick photo.

We then went on, Lynnless, to the museum to see the exhibition. It was pretty wonderful stuff!! There was such variety on show, it was stunning. Well done to all involved. Just a couple of pics of a very small snap shot of what was there.

Well worth the meeting with Lynn, we must do it properly next time!!!!, and an exhibition I would recommend and would probably visit again next year too.

Amo, The quilts at Radstock are amazing. Sadly their website suggests that the exhibition finishes this Sunday :-) What a shame I cant get there before then.

Pam, it does finish this Sunday but hopefully there is next year. You have to be vigilant though should you go, there are quilts everywhere!!

Lynn seems to specialize in short meetings. We'll just have to hand-cuff her to the nearest longarm machine if we don't want her to do a vanishing act.

Seriously: It's great that you managed to meet, and that quilt exhibition really does look wonderful. It's just a little too far for me to drive. Thanks a lot for sharing the pictures, Amo!

I've just not managed to get to Radstock, and I'm really sad about it. Glad you two had a good time, and the quilts do look fantastic.
