How romantic Terrie. Have you a link for his version.

Rosemary and I sang 'Bring me Sunshine' Morecambe and Wise version to Lorna on the banks of Loch Lomond, I don't think she was impressed

"You are my sunshine my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey"......
What memories that song brings back of my darling father singing it to me, that would be about 70 years ago but I still remember it.
        Thank you Wendy.
We could do with a bit of sunshine as it's a very dark dull day here in Woking.
Hope the sun is shining where ever you are.

I am loving all this warm remembering. It's cozy. Especially good since the temps in the low 30's for a couple of days this week is only a brief reprieve. Below freezing temps come back tomorrow and will hang around for a while longer. Good quilting weather.

Well you are all bringing back memories for me too. Before the days when our kids had earphones permanently attached to their ears on their life-support machines (iPods) we always sang 'You Are My Sunshine' on car journeys followed by 'Catch a Falling Star' and other songs that we could easily sing with multiple harmonies. It was always great fun to see who would come up with a different harmony. As each child got older they would vary their contribution which would sometimes have us all in fits of laughter - if it was particularly free and improvisational. So thanks for reminding me of that everybody, happy memories.

My family weren't particularly into singing, but it is great reading everybody else's stories with all this sunshine around here. Yesterday we had fog - what my Mum would describe as a 'misty, moisty morning', only it lasted all day

Sorry, no link Wendy. He's a low-key, low profile kinda guy.

Love all the memories. You Are My Sunshine has always been a favorite of mine. And Catch a Falling Star too. That was Perry Como wasn't it? I don't remember my dad singing, but my mother sure did. She was always singing along with the radio, (How much is that doggie in the window?) or she would sing old hymns. I only sing when I am alone or just the smaller grandchildren are around. Definitely not a good singer!!!

Not true, Wendy. I was indeed impressed.

Anne, that is the version I know!

Would that make him a 'basso profundo'? :P

Lorna, I've been singing it in my head all day and I think I remember all the words.
Isn't the memory a strange thing.....some days I can't remember what day it is but little things pop into my head from years ago.
                        Happy days

It's a blissful state not to know what day it is. Don't knock it Anne.

Wendy, your work always brings sunshine to the eye of the beholder, and this little bit of sunshine is an added bonus. Nice!
