        It's yearly silver birch time again. My friend has sent me a beautiful felted winter scene. I have started hers. Getting the hang of birch now.

        I've made a valentine card I thought you might like to see.

                  Love it, Wendy! My dad used to lead the chorus with that song to keep us kids entertained with a sing-along when we went away on day-trips together... still makes me smile when I think about it, as did your little sunshine Valentine card.

                    I'm always singing it. I did a little quilt at a class a long time ago with it written over an angel and took it into work to show some patients. One poor lady asked me for it to give to her carer and I couldn't say no, so that phrase always makes me smile.

                    I primarily made it for an art quilt challenge on Facebook but I'll give it to OH. I sing it to him often to cheer him up. Actually he hates hearing me sing :lol:

                            Wendy, You are our Sunshine! Thanks. I hope you sing that song loud enough for me to hear. Get DH some earplugs! hmy:

                              My dad used to always sing "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad". He added a little verse at the end that goes;

                              Oom pah, oom pah, oom pah pah. My pa's better than your papa. Oom pah, oom pah, oom pah pah. Strummin' on the old banjo.

                              My sisters and I loved it and still sing it together sometimes!

                                Talking about that song stirs my heart...wistfully remembering my dad singing the " You are my sunshine" song to me and explaining what it meant. I think I was about 6 Y.O. Years later, I was very touched with Stevie Wonder's song ' You are the sunshine of my life..." ' ...the apple of my eye..etc ." wow!
                                We had it sung at our wedding, but with a different tune written by a friend who writes music. Same words. My sister said that she liked his version more than Stevie Wonder's!

                                Imagine that!

                                Love Stevie!
