Thanks to everyone for their good wishes and prayers. My sister and BIL are doing well, dealing with difficult relatives as best as they can and things seem settled. They are happy that their father/grandfather lived a good long life. Only concern is the widow (they had been married for 68 years) she just has no idea of what is going to happen to her. Poor dear. It is difficult.
I see there are volumes and volumes of pages on the forum, so as I have scanned everything quickly - I'll wrap it up as: You are all wonderfully talented, kindhearted, gentlewomen, with the adorable quirk and bump here ad there! The mug rugs are great and that baby is a wonder. Congrats, Lorchen.
I hope to be able to stay more up-to-date on the happenings on the forum. What about Limbania? Not sure I read about her, and is there going to be any more parties in the near future. Maybe we should give Lorchen a virtual grandmother shower!
Thanks for all you kindness and prayers and good vibes.

I don't understand that. When I click on it, a pdf file is loaded to my computer and I can save it from there and it looks correct. I don't know how to write in gobblegook, so something else must be going onOriginally posted by scottishquilterNorma, still being dense but when I click on it, it is all in gobblegook.Originally posted by ZarahNow with the invaluable help from Renata, my instructions for how I make my mug rugs are available.
Thank you, thank you Renata for helping me out with the language challenges
. Because of you it turned out great.
Here's the link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...Rug_my_way.pdf
Enjoy!

.
Does anyone else experience problems? With this I mean!
Lorchen your little Faye looks so pretty.
The mug rugs are getting better and better. Such a joy to watch.

Love the "three French hens"--well done Wendy.
Lorchen--that thread on the background of Pam's MR is the thread you sent to me. Works very well. Also--what a beautiful little girl. She looks like she might look like her big sister.

Norma--your tutorial is wonderful. I had no problem getting to it or reading it. I was not able to go to the link for where you get your thread. Maureen, are you using Google Chrome? I am finding that I am having lots of problems with Internet Explorer(of course it could just be Window 8) . If you are not--that could be why you are getting gobblygook.

Ok--you would think that I could do all this in one post, but apparently the anticipation of seeing Eli is frying my brain. Just wanted to add that I sent a mug rug out for Nancy today. Rosemary, I am still working on yours. I think I am done--at least for this moment in time.

Cool beans!
If there is no little red icon on the topic you are interested in, it just means that you have already ready the last message that was posted. If you give it a couple of hours (?) you can probably come back and find the icon has appeared because now there is something new to read. And Ritzy is right....it might be your server???

I left the house for a couple of hours and came back to two pages of postings here! Wendy and Ritzy, your mug rugs are wonderful! Beautiful photo of Oma and Faye! Maureen, if you are getting rubbish when you try accessing the file, the only other thing I can think of as a problem is, because the file is a .pdf, perhaps you don't have software loaded to be able to read it, like Adobe Acrobat. That's all I can offer.

One beautiful and delicious faye, a beautiful and glowing oma, Two beautiful and fantastical muggies... The day just gets better and better...
Norma, I hd no problems with the link to your muggie-tutorial and managed to open and save it to both my iBooks and my Dropbox.
Maureen, the little red guide on the left is only red if there are new posts since the last time you had it open.
I've also found that when I opened a topic but did not read through to the end (all pages and to the last post on the last page), I did not get any new notices. So if you havn't had every page of this topic open, it might not recognise you to be truly back, active and wanting updates...
I also managed to click on the other link, the one that says I don't want anymore notices for that topic, a few times. Once I've been active in the topic again, I receive the notices again.
Also, when I've looked at a topic but was not logged in, it doesn't know that I was there, so no new notices (as there is a safeguard, as the system does not send notices every time there is a new post, but only once, when there is the first new post once you have closed a topic.
And yes, we've been awfully active during the last few days, with pages of posts appearing magically between when I look in before getting up in the morning, and once I head for bed in the evening when my iPad comes out for a last minute (hour, hours) romp on TQS
Oh, also good if you havn't heard from us in a while, go to Board Index, and select 'unread posts'... That's where the stuff goes that I havn't been active in lately, or that I managed to 'deactivate' by not reading through to the end, or whatever... You can choose the order in which these should be shown, I set it to newest post first... That way I immediately find the new posts I 'lost' - and if you're ever bored, go and read through a few of the oldies... Will definitely raise your spirits! But could get you sidetracked for quite some time.Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Where as I start with any notifications that have arrived and when I have read all of those I check out the entire board to see if anything else has been happening whilst I get a few hrs shut-eye. Gotta keep an eye on you lot to see what you are admitting to getting up to :wink:Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland
