Hi Lois -
Yep, the roads are in pretty bad shape. I haven't been to Boulder since the flood, but there is a route open. With this route, it will take me about 1:15 or so to get to work, when my usual drive is about 30 minutes. They are asking us to stay off of the roads as much as possible so that they can fix them, so I'm working at home as much as possible. My power only went out for 2 days and the phone for a week. But when the power went back on it did something to the well pump and now I can't use more water at a time than the pressure pump can hold, so I can flush the toilet and wash dishes, but no showers or laundry. They are supposed to be able to make it up tomorrow to fix that, so I'm really looking forward to that!! The road from my house to Estes Park is open so I can go there for groceries, etc, so that is nice. It's about a 45 minute drive, but I'm used to that 30 minutes to Boulder so it's not too bad. And any business I can give them is good because most of their economy is based on tourism, but there is only 1 full-time road and 1 part-time road (Trailridge Road always closes in winter because of the amount of snow it gets and we're starting to get snow now) into town right now.
So, I, personally, am in extremely good shape, but there are some people who are really hurting right now! And, of course, the government shutdown means that they are no longer paying the National Guard to work on fixing our roads so the state has had to find money to pay them so that the work can continue. Gotta love it!

Nancy, Thanks for the update. Like I said somewhere before, I flew over Blouder last week. It was a clear day. I had a window seat and from 6 miles up it looked great, but I knew there was still trouble down there. Glad to know you are dealing with the devastation with just inconvenience and minor damage to your pump. So glad to hear you are able to work from home.

Hi Chinese Whispers, I thought I would let you know that I have heard from Limbania to let me know that she will be sending Marilyn's quilt to me in the next few weeks. It was a lovely surprise hearing from her as it has been so long
She didn't go into detail about how her treatment is going just that she was still going for Naturopathic treatments and lymphedema treatment a couple of times a week. There is also not much in the quilt making area for her yet. She sounded quite positive and I suspect she will let us know her progress when she is ready to talk about it

Rosemary, as it is passed the 12th I was wondering if you have finished your CW quilt and is it ready to post or maybe even posted to Rita?
I am just trying to keep everyone in the loop and keeping to the timetable as agreed. Christmas is coming very, very fast; I think Rita must be getting very excited or nervous.

How exciting... another transition!
It appears congratulations may be in order to Rosemary on successful completion of CW7, it must feel great to be handing this fine little masterpiece on to Rita--welcome to the club of the finished, Rosemary! Is your sewing room ready to receive, Rita? You know you are about to take the con, Captain Rita?

Sorry Renata, I was just trying to find out, as it was passed the 12th, the deadline, when it should have been posted, if Rosemary had indeed finished and posted the CW quilt but not let me know. I also wanted to remind her that time was of the essence and if late there was a knock on effect. I know everyone is very busy but then the rest of us were busy too and some had serious health issues but managed to finish before the time due. We really don't want Rita getting it later as the Christmas posting has been factored in. Rita is all ready and waiting in anticipation.

ops: Still stitching up furiously, been having trouble with whisper whisper and the whisper whisper have been causing trouble and I am totally fed up with the whisper who just won't go right. The new job also caused a bit of time lag, but you can be sure that I will be delighted to get this finished and on to Rita ASAP
