Congratulations on the new job Rosemary. As Renata says it will be like riding a bike, you will be up to speed in no time.

I am really glad you are on the homewards straight with the CW quilts and hopefully with get it finished and posted by the revised deadline. As CW organiser I was getting a bit worried that we would be heading towards having problems over the Christmas holiday mailing from Ireland, therefore having to put on extra time for that. As we all know unforeseen things happen and have happened in this group and plans get changed so it is better to keep time accrued in case we need it and everyone finish the quilt in their given 51 days or hopefully earlier. I am sure you can do it Rosemary as you are already well on the way.

It would be brilliant if all the CW quilts and the 100 word statement where in my hands well before the deadline in April. As you can appreciate with the new circumstances I will be more involved with the LLQS 2014 which will be the last one and would prefer not to be stressed out about our CW quilts not arriving in time. I will probably have other stresses to consider, like where are we going to show 22 groups of CW quilts :?: :?: :?:

I am really looking forward to everyone who is coming and will make sure I have plenty of time to socialize with everyone.

Heck that's a lot of entries   and a lot of quilts if there are as many in the groups as ours.

Here's a taste of whisper exhibition for you all Click link for lots of Chinese Whisper quilts

I really wonder at how they got from one quilt to another with some of these

Wendy, in the rules the number for each group was no less than 8 and no more than 16. I think the average is around 12 per group = 264 , the mind boggles and of course the largest could be up to 40" x 40". We need a massive hall. The CW exhibition will be the largest exhibition we have ever had - what a way to finish the LLQS.

I will let you know when we find somewhere suitable for that many

Maureen, I could not either by clicking on the middle of the picture. However, if you look to the bottom left where it says "Group 1" in the first picture, if you click on that, you will at least be able to scroll through each picture (you'll see a directional arrow at the bottom of the picture after you click on "Group X."

Thanks for the link Wendy. Wow what a lot of lovely quilts. It is so intriguing to see how different minds work. The one that I couldn't fathom was how somebody got from the windows of a skyscraper to a squirrel in a tree!

Maureen I think you are going to have a lot of extra work this year. I would offer to help but I am too far away and as yet I am not even sure if I can make it or how long I can make it for. I would particularly like to get there as it is going to be the last one. That makes me sad even just writing it.

Rosemary, it sounds like you will have your work cut out for you - no wait, that would have been an earlier process. It will be like falling off a log....or a horse, or a bike.... something like that. But break a leg anyway.

Love them Maureen. Not sure how they got from boats to nude ladies. All very clever, it's going to be fun to see them all next year

Thanks for the link Maureen. It's good to see what others have done in the past. I can't wait to see our entry.

I had a lovely time for about an hour yesterday afternoon playing with Ruby. She stitched beautifully and I made a few little 2" paper pieced square in a square blocks. The machine is so quiet when it is treadling along. It took about a minute to get the knack of swinging the wheel towards me to start pedaling and get a good flow. I had to look up some youtube videos to check that I was threading the bobbin correctly etc., and found some really useful stuff. I discovered that mine is a 201K in Cabinet 51. I am not certain but I don't think it had the pot belly motor originally, I think it was just a treadle machine. But I would love to know more about it if anybody has information? If you are interested this man has lots of really useful tips:

Thanks, Rita. That's a great primer for someone like me not knowing what to look for in a treadle.
