I just emailed Maureen that I have no idea what is on my schedule for late 2013 or early 2014. All I ask is that you leave me my fair share of time at the end, because like the rest of you I am wondering what the heck I got myself into. I can hardly wait to get started and now I have to wait at least another 12-18 months before I do anything! Too funny. I am pretty sure I will still be in the UK. I am not scheduled to move until July of 2014.
I also already told my husband that we will be going to Scotland for the quilt festival. Also hope to get up there next summer when my other daughter and her family come to visit. In the meantime I will continue working on my Reels quilt and my many, many UFOs.
Lorna
PS. On one of those links I posted, the picture that started it was of a basket of fruit and cookies with flowers. The last one of the group was a snowman!!? So no telling what you will get out of me...

I am very good with #10. A very good number. It will be wonderful! I am so glad to be a part of this group. Thank you!
Do we know the judging rules though? I mean is it best to have the last closest to the picture and not to have strayed too far? When we played this game as a kid first of all we called it Gossip or Telephone (or telephone line, I can't remember). There weren't winners or losers it was just fun to see how contorted the message came out. So maybe this has nothing to do with how well all the quilt match the picture, but in workmanship of each one? Do we know for sure?

I remember the game when I was a child, which was called Chinese Whispers where you whispered to someone something that had been written down and by the end of the line it was something completely different. 8) There is something far back in my memory about the British spies in the war giving information to someone and by the time it got to the Germans it was something different but I can't drag up from my memories.
There are rules of-course and they have to be adhered to.No rules for making the quilt but the size but things like no discussing it or letting any of the group see a photo of your quilt or explaining anything about it. That is why I don’t want anyone discussing her quilt or process on the Forum or in emails to the other members as it will spoil it for everyone else and it is against the whole concept of the challenge. God, I sound like a right bossy boots (and you are right – I am)
I will be sending the rules out to everyone with the finished timetable. I wanted to post them on the first page of this forum but they were in PDF format so I couldn’t copy it over. I have now got Isabel to put it in Word for me but I don’t know if I can then go back and put it at the beginning – but I don’t think you can do it.

I promise to only tell people when I receive the quilt and when I post things. No other information will get past these sealed lips! I agree with Maureen -- that would ruin the fun of this! But I can't wait to see pictures of all of the qulits in 2014 once they are exhibited! Wish I could see them in person, but I'm guessing that won't happen.

I'm not sure if I am out of my comfort zone or not :? Personally I am tending towards traditional piecing styles, rather than pictorial applique, but it all depends on whether I can 'see' somthing that fits or not - and If I can't 'see' it, it has always been a right struggle, 'back in the day' when I was working on my City & Guilds embroidery exam.
So 2014 Loch Lomond - Dh has been threatening a holiday in Scotland for years now
Rosemary, what do you mean, your husband has been threatening a holiday in Scotland – it is beautiful country.   Is your husband’s background not Scottish :?: :?: :?:

The example I remember as having come from WWI is that 'Send for reinforcements we're going to advance' changed to 'Send three and fourpence, we're going to a dance' quite an interesting variation for the location

I was wondering - if anyone should chance to get finished and ready to post early  would it be possible to advance up everyone else's time, so that we still have a maximum of 51 days, but this way we hopefully reel in the time for getting all finished ones to Maureen early 8)
In the meantime, I have a year to try and get all current projects finished (and a few other bits & bobs besides)
