I spent a lot of time yesterday and today ironing and trimming threads from all of my HSTs, and still have not gotten to the bottom of my enevlope! (Who said I was fast? ) But, today as I went to throw the current pile of cut theads into my watse can, I had a light bulb moment! Some of us make ATCs or post cards. Just imagine artistically using these thread cuttings from all over the world! Kind of like blood sisters, only we've become thread sisters, as I knead these bonus treasures together! Quick, go rescue them from the trash!
I'm glad I did!

I love the thread cuttings idea, Dawn!!!!

Lotti, your idea about integrating Dawn's 8) idea of keeping/using clipped threads from our HST's into a triangle-signature motif is intriguing :!: Hmmm...maybe they'll all end up in one of my Sue's magical hats encased in organdy or tulle :!:Originally posted by lottidonna
they're both great designs although i aso like the striped border best :P
dawn
what a fab idea - yup - sisters: hang on to those threads - maybe they could be integrated into the "triangle-signature" motiv - a great way to embellish all those signatures - the possibilities truly are endless
Great ideas, sisters, keep 'em coming!

OuchOriginally posted by BarbaraAnneGreat design Donna! I too would go with the strip border, it gives you eye a rest and brings the focus to the center. Would would happen if you changed the angle on the side borders to match the top and bottom borders? Just a thought...

oops, my post got lost, so I will type it again. My HST's came today and I am so happy with all of them. I poured a glass of wine and poured through them and I feel like I have new friends all over the country and around the world. GREAT JOB LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU, SORTERS, CHAIRPERSONS, MAKERS AND ALL ;-) ) I decided to make Edyta's Tree of Life Quilt. I have always wanted one. I will post it some time in Sept. as I am going back and forth to NYC to visit my new grandson. Love and hugs and thanks to all of you in our new circle of friends and Gloria and I will try to find you in Houston in the fall. Sandy and Gloria in NY

Debbie and Clara,
Thank you so much for all the work. Sorting day was so much fun, I would not of missed it for the world. I received my HST's Monday, they arrived in great shape. My HST package was rolled up, stuffed in my mail box on a 102 degree day with no harm done. They were so hot when I opened the package they just laid out like I had ironed them. Look forward to seeing all at the show in Houston.

Donna, I have 3 of yours. I just finished starting to make a record of all the places and people I have them from and yours was the first group I recorded. Really I place them on my copier with both some fabric and the paper side showing and made a photo copy. Not sure how it will be used maybe on transferfabric for the back of my quilt! Thanks for sharing in this adventure, it was my 1st exchange!Originally posted by tkwritrI'm still waiting for my HSTs and am on "pins and needles" every day when the mailman comes by. Until then, I thought I'd let everyone know that I had already finished my HSTs and had them bagged and ready to mail when the posts started mentioning adding our screen name to each one. I didn't and wish I had now. Instead, I only had "Birmingham, AL USA" on each one. So if you receive one labeled that way, it's mine. Just thought you might want to know.
Looking forward to discovering what comes in my package. I've had my quilt designed since before I mailed the HSTs and am anxious to start piecing it together.

Thank you, Jackie. I'm glad it's done and I look forward to seeing your profile photo real soon! Wish I could send some of our excess Oregon rain down to you! The ants have no where to go and are coming in the house via our garage (where much of my fabric stash is stored right now) to keep dry! Maybe I should tell them to take a trip to Texas! :mrgreen:Originally posted by printmakerWow Shirley! That is a wonderful photo and well worth the wait. I am hoping to figure out what to do about my own and get it done "one of these days!" Jackie in Fredericksburg, TX, where it is DRY! DRY! DRY! but, thankfully, not burning.
