Lottie...you are a very special and amazing person to have done that so quickly! The world needs millions & millions more like you, especially if they come stocked with Swiss Chocolates, too  I'm thrilled that we are lucky enough to have you in our SoTTTs and Strippers midst!

I am sorry, but I will not be able to send any strips. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on March 31st. I had exploratory surgery on April 2nd which will result in a 10.5 in. scar! They were able to remove most of the cancer and I will begin chemo next week. I am not bouncing back as quick as I had hoped. At 72 it takes a bit longer than I would like! I had just started cutting strips after sending in my HST when this all started. I have enjoyed reading all the posts and feel bad I have to drop out. We are hopeful for a great recovery. Please keep me in your prayers.

Deanna, you will be added to my prayer list for a speedy and full recovery.

Morning all,
Just an update after this AM's opening, emailing and sorting. I have gotten 169 packages and a total of 27,027 strips.
I just spent a few more minutes sorting the return envelopes by amount - under 100, 100, 101-199 and 200. I hope getting some of this organized before the sort day will help out. I have gotten a box of large zip lock bags. Many of you sent your strips in small baggies - you will be getting your strips back in a large zip lock bag inside your mailing envelope. If you sent them in a large baggie - you will get them back in it.
Many brown envelopes looked like they wanted to open in the mail, so I will be either taping or stapling them shut to insure a safe trip back to you.
The deadline is THIS SATURDAY :!: :!: :!:

Thanks for the update, Barb. This is all so very exciting. On one hand, I can't wait to get my strips, and on the other we won't have this to look forward to any more once we get them. Boo Hoo! I surely hope some nice, wonderful person starts something new for us in the near future.
And Lottie! I'm so happy that you are such an active part of the exchanges. I just love reading all your posts. I feel like I know you. What a way to make friends!

It is hard to believe how many strips have been sent in already and we still have 5 days to go! Thanks to Barb and everyone who has been involved in doing this. This is going to be so much fun. I hope that all involved can post pictures of what they have done with their strips. That would be amazing to see all the ideas that come out of this exchange! Barb, will you post pictures again with a final count before you start sorting? Thanks for everything.

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick update - I have received lots of packages the past few days and still have emails letting me know 14 more are on the way.
I have received 181 envelopes totaling 28,973 strips. We may get to 30,000 depending on what's still in the mail.
I will let you all know that sorting day will NOT be next week - I want to make sure all of the packages get here.
As soon as I know they are all here, I will post a final count, where everyone lives, etc.
I did receive Loiti's package of 200 strips for Deanna - you are super Lotti!!! I also have received small bags from other quilters with strips for Deanna - I have started a LARGE envelope for her and will make sure she gets lots of great batiks so she can make a beautiful quilt.
