Does anyone know any good UK website to buy pretty sequins and rick rack at reasonable prices.

Wow--good eyes Wendy--I would have missed the bird if you had not mentioned it.

No video--they wouldn't let me take it and I wasn't going to let them take my camera.

Rita - I LOVE it! The brown really balances out the pink and gives it a totally different feel from earlier on. Isn't it fun how each step can change the look of the quilt so much?

It sure is Nancy. I didn't completely succeed with my green cording around the binding - next time.

I think the green cording looks great!

I'm keeping with Lauren's schedule and just did the hand embroidery this week. The yarn/threads that Lauren put in the kits are just plain scrumptious, but what a pain to pull them through the fused applique! I'll stick to needleturn!

I also tried a new-to-me binding method and really like it! It gives the extra detail like Ricky's mini-piping, but it doesn't take as much fabric, and the corners are treated just like regular french corners instead of the pieced corners that Ricky uses on his Grand Finale DVD.

Nancy Zieman's french fold binding: http://www.nancysnotions.com/jump.do...age=bindaquilt

And here is the method I tried today:
                        http://tlcstitches.blogspot.com/2010...-tutorial.html

Hmmmm....the video is no longer on her web site but was in the Sept 2012 issue of American Quilter magazine. Here is a link to someone who tried the technique:
after seeing it in the magazine so you can see how it's done: http://colormequilty.blogspot.com/20...d-binding.html

Margo, what you did with the binding looks remarkably similar to what I did on on of my AAQI quilts a little while back. I just made mine a little wider than yours). It's called a two color flange binding and I got it from http://www.ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/F...t_Binding.html (video included). Hope this helps anyone trying to do it for the first time. I was surprised at how easy it was to do. Margo, let me know if it is not the same as what you did.

                              Margo -

Your quilt is looking great! I was wondering what it would be like to embroider through the fusible. Your hand stitches look perfect. And the binding looks wonderful.

This binding method is very popular in my local guild. They call it "peek-a-boo" binding. I haven't tried it yet myself, but probably will at some point. When I first saw the method, I was bothered by the extra line of stitching visible on the back. But Ricky's method has the same thing and he even talks about this being okay even for show quilts, so I've been rethinking that and will try both methods at some point. I need to see which corners I like better.

Love the beading Margo. And thanks for the link to the faux piping, I will have to give it a try.
