Thanks Jenny, that's an easy converter. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around whether the dollar is good against the euro or bad! I'll ask my world-traveling daughter.

About Elly's Baltimore Elegance design collection...it is retired and no longer available unless some quilt shop somewhere has one still in stock. This info comes from my LQS in LaPlata, MD, USA

        Hi
For those of you who couldn't find Ricky's embroidery discs. if you go to his site and click on - online store, then it is the 3rd selection down on categories. I bought it last year, but not got round to using them yet, but they look good. I didn't buy the threads as I have loads and the postage from the states to uk here made it rather expensive. Hope that helps

If you need to split a design, you reallly don't want to "split it in half". To get a good split, you need to split it like a jigsaw puzzle, so that you won't be able to see the "line" when you sew the parts back together. You also need to add some kind of alignment stitches, so you can get the hoopings to line up properly.

I have purchased some lessons on splitting designs using Embird software, and it works great. I don't know if there are lessons for other software, but the techniques would be the same. Just a matter of figuring out how to do things in your software.

Diane, does your software add the registration marks automatically when you have a multli-hoop design? i've never seen Embird, but often software is very similar in icons and terminology so I'm curious on how you add your marks.

              Hi Sue,

No Embird doesn't automatically add any registration marks. But it does have an Insert Aligning Stitches option. However, I don't use that. I have some "pluses" digitized, and add those pluses to each hooping, in a way that they stitch out first in the second hooping, so you can move your fabric a bit if you need to, in order to get everything aligned. I really don't want to go into much detail on how I do this, as I purchased the lessons on how to do this, and I don't want to give away anything that is copyrighted by the lady that sells the lessons.

You can download a free trial version of Embird which is good for 30 days or 100 uses (every time you open the program, it is a use, so don't open and close it many times or you will use up all your uses) from http://www.embird.com It is a great program, and very resaonably priced.

Diane, thanks for taking the time to respond! I found out that my software (Bernina V5) does make registration marks for each additional hooping. Now, I just have to try it! So many projects, so little time...
