I have a drawing showing one quarter section through all borders. I'm making slight adjustments as I go to get everything to fit. I only have an 1/8" allowed for the floaters in order to get everything to fit in less than 24" which is the maximum size for a mini. The four patch blocks will be slightly over 1/2" finished, 3/4" when set on point. The basket blocks will be about 1 5/8", 2 1/4" when set on point. I will be designing different baskets when the time comes, although the baskets shown will work if I want to deal with slightly over 1/4" hst's. I'm not sure I want to do that! I'm still working on how to make the final border work. I will wait for instructions to see if I can come up with a size that fits my quilt or redesign it. And the remaining appliques will definitely be simplified, if there is such a thing on a miniature quilt!Originally posted by eileenknyAnnis,
That is just so lovely! Your work is amazing and so small-OY!!
How far out are you taking it?

I need a little help with my color choice for my swags! I probably should have had more of the center showing, so you can see the colors that are more prominent, but you can always see it in the BOM Show and Tell, or the the Forum Month Two. I like both colors! I would put a deep rose piping in the purple/lavender, and would leave the lime/green one as is. Right now, the aqua floater is just a strip laying there being auditioned. I like it, too. So, which do you like best? Green/Lime or purple/lavender?
Or this?
Thanks!

I have a preference but I won't share it. Instead I will ask a few questions:
What is the final look you are trying to achieve? Bold? A little more subtle?
What is color preference of final owner, if known?
Which would you prefer? Can't decide. Let it perk a few more days.
Do you want the swag to blend with the quilt or jump out at you?
As has been discussed, time and time again, there are no quilt police. Also, I believe quilting should be about your choices. The more variations and choices I see in a project like this, the happier my inner self is that the craft of quilting will stay very alive and not just become an era like paper tole, macrame and how many others. There was very little originality and letting the individual personality of the maker possible in those crafts. I've been there, done most as they came along, but only my cross stitch and quilting are enduring as life time crafts.

Dawn,
I seem to be in the minority, but I prefer the green. It just pops off the background. Hmmmm...what would it look like if you used a purple & a green in the individual swag rather than two purples or two greens?
BTW...I'm still envious that you've gotten this far this fast! I haven't even touched mine, but, of course, right after my fabrics arrived, the SoTTTs happened and I've been in HST mode ever since. I sure will have a lot of catching up to do once the exchange is over.

Actually, the purple and green was presented to me in a private email, and it sounded like fun, so I did put it up on my design wall. So far, it has not spoken to me. It just sort of sits there, not knowing if might belong to the multi colored trellis, or afraid it might blend into the next multi colored border. But, I did try it! You never know until you try!Originally posted by NaneeWolfI seem to be in the minority, but I prefer the green. It just pops off the background.
