I am liking all of the swag borders, but I'm having to do mine different on my smaller quilts. I skipped the scalloped border on the Christmas one and just used plain swags with flowers and a circle center. It's ready to assemble before I can applique the corners as I used a striped background and they will be mitered. I decided if I get past this month everything else should be easier so I'm doing my best to stay caught up. The mini appliques are prepared and ready to glue to the background. These will be mitered also so I may have to come up with a way to cover the corner where the applique joins depending on how it looks. I used a design in EQ7 called Curved Path. What color thread do you suggest I use for this multi-colored fabric?

I've posted my Christmas BOM in show and tell. I'm glad to have this month behind me. No more applique until September. That should give my fingers long enough to heal from all of that stab stitching through multiple layers! After next month I will be on my own on this quilt. The fun motifs will replace the baskets and I've added another border of them after the floaters which we aren't supposed to do until December so I will probably be doing that border in September instead. And I won't be working on the pieced swag border until everything else is done because I don't know what my dimensions are going to be. So I may get to take the summer off. That will give me more time to work on the mini which will have baskets but not as detailed as Sue's. I have the applique done on it and the strips are in the process of drying after washing out the glue. So it will be finished soon but not today. I'm hoping the corners line up when I go to miter them so I don't have to add any more details.

Annis, I love your Christmas version! I used to wonder why anyone would buy striped fabric for quilts, and after this BOM I finally get it!

Every ones blocks look so perfect, this has been a really difficult month for me, and what a learning curve, I have never used glue or piped swags before but with Margo's wonderful tutorials I think I might have finally got there. thank you Margo for all the help you give us. Taking a photo was also difficult as one of my dogs insisted on being in on the act  the quilt is now getting to big to fit my design wall.

You have done a great job. I like your subtle colors. I'm still working on mine. It takes time to make all the flowers even if I machine applique this month. I have the same problem with the size. I consider not sewing my borders on until later.

Dorothy, it looks GREAT!! I love the soft colors, and I'm glad you are stretching and growing!

After next month's border, you will just be making parts of borders and the final assembly won't happen until December!
