I was calculating how much I still have to do for March installment and have only two leaves, two berries, 8 corner flowers, center petals for 20 swags and corner connectors and 20 yellow yo-yos, floater border and install the swag border to complete the March BOM. With luck and a mostly free Saturday, I just might get it finished before April is posted (or shortly thereafter.) I dreaded all the applique this month, but with time (and lots of practice), I've gotten a little faster and more accomplished. I don't think I will dread another applique project and for that I thank Sue and her wonderful designs and TQS for this learning opportunity. (I might even go back to the 2008 BOM and make that quilt. It was beautiful, but I gave up.)

Anise & Dorothy, your quilts are looking fantastic.
I'm plugging along with the applique. I hope I get done by the end of March. I've been so busy this month that getting sewing time has been a challenge. I have everything ready to sew. My swags are done and I'm putting the roses on them now...about 1/3 done. Still have the corner blocks and assembly to do.

Dorothy, I love your colors! You did a beautiful job of picking out your colors and fabrics. So different from the examples and so beautiful. I just looked at your profile quilts and saw your 2009 BOM photo, also lovely. I'm glad you've persevered, keep going! I'm only getting started so I'm taking heart from seeing other people's wonderful work.

I've finished month 3 on my mini and I'm happy with it. If you see any mistakes just take off your glasses or step back a few feet and they will disappear! I was afraid the corners weren't going to line up when I went to miter them but they are close enough for me. Now I'm on baby watch for the rest of the month. They're hoping tomorrow so it will make it easier on everyone. I'm guessing Monday since I have plans for that day that would have to be cancelled, but he will be worth it.

Another gorgeous version, Annis!
Could you please include the size of your quilts with your photos? People who haven't been following every post, and don't check the Show & Tell page, don't realize that you like to challenge yourself!
For those of you who don't keep track....this quilt now measures 11 inches!!!

That's 11" finished. My original drawing called for an 1/8" floater but I changed it to 1/4" to make it easier and took the difference out of the swag border so I could keep the size. The finished quilt, if I complete all of the borders will be close to 24".Originally posted by MargoAnother gorgeous version, Annis!

No special tools. I work on paper whenever possible. I used wash-away applique with a glue stick and toothpicks to turn the edges under. Glue dots to hold them in place for hand sewing. I measured and marked my sewing lines for the miters and used a lot of pins. I basted the miters using a long sewing machine stitch before final sewing. It probably helps to have small hands.Originally posted by gynconnieAnnis, it's amazing that so much can happen in such a tiny space! Do you use any special tools or techniques for working in such small scale?
