Myra asked about seeing my finished quilt to get an idea of machine quilting. Here is an image of my Laurel Ridge quilt so you can get an idea of the machine quilting. It was beautifully quilted by Dianne Schweickert in Livermore, CA. There are also many more images on my Sew'n Wild Oaks blog here: Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog: Introducing Laurel Ridge

The center blocks shown here, as well as some of the finished quilts are gorgeous. I want to say I am thankful for the extra fabric - as well as the gift fabrics which I received int he mail today. I was able to use all of the original fabrics in my top so am saving the new ones for something later. I’m hoping to use left-over fabrics - and a few “oops” blocks to do another project. This has been a challenging quilt but beautiful and I have learned a lot. Thank you Lynn Wilder for a beautiful creation; and, thank you Barbara for shepherding us through and the great tips you shared.

I definitely agree that the 2025 BOM has been a great challenge and so well put together. I have the Autumn kit and didn’t get upset about the few hiccups with fabric. TQS went above and beyond to make it right. Honestly- every quilt is a challenge and I’m sure I would have figured something out regardless. Lynn’s design and instructions are superb. I have really enjoyed the videos produced by her granddaughter! And Barbara has been a joy to learn from.
I have a ways to go before I finish but I have every intention of getting there. My blocks aren’t perfect and certainly not show worthy but I’m happy with what I’ve learned- it has been time well spent.
Thank you everyone at TQS and especially Lynn for the phenomenal project and Barbara for the fantastic follow up.
I already have the 2026 solid kit for Game On. I’ll be finishing Laurel Ridge while working on Game On. It’s all good.

I had to post a picture of my quilt blocks on my design wall, which is way to small! All the blocks are done but not on my design wall. I will be putting them together in sections per directions and adding a wider border. This quilt is for my queen-sized bed. I can't wait! I have loved working with the fabrics in the Spring kit. They have made my heart happy every time I have sewn with them. I love the way the blocks come together in the quilt to make secondary patterns. Great pattern, directions and videos. This has been much fun. Thank you all. I will post finished and then quilted quilt probably after Christmas when done.

I finished the 24 blocks for month 11, but not the center yet. I also re-made the month with the flannel blocks- on my wall I didn’t like how the stripes looked. I also got a little silly and thought I’d embroider the blocks for month 6 (I think) it was a bad idea. I liked what Lynn said about the community and friendship circles on the quilt, and I thought my machine could work on one set of blocks while I worked on month 11. I didn't have all the blocks up on my wall, and while I thought I was staying within the spirit of Lynn’s design, they looked horrible and took away from the style and overall the spirit of the quilt. My BERNINA started acting up, so I didn’t get to the “friendship or Lynn Wilder blocks. Guess I’ll put it on the label. I also made a wedding veil and wedding cake this month, and spent a month traveling, so I’m a little slow at finishing, but decided to finish with the directions and just be slow. I have enjoyed learning with Lynn’s technique and Barbara’s tips. Thank you both of you!!!Cheryl R

Today is December 31, and I'm thrilled to have all my blocks done. This was a LOT for the year, and it was a very busy year. But I do love this quilt and am so excited to be finishing it. I've made my quilt "Florida Ridge" (yes, there is a ridge in Florida, called the Kissimmee Ridge that runs through the center of the state.) My grandfathers both managed orange groves along the ridge where housing developments and theme parks now reign. So this is old Florida, with orange blossoms and fishing on the dock and the kids liberating the shrimp you bought for bait. I hope to get the other sections of the quilt together quickly and use the quilt-as-you-go method and enter it in the Strawberry Festival here in Plant City in February.Ellen Lindow
