Well today I hope to pick up my machine and get back on track. I had a phone call friday 5pm that it was ready, but the shop closes at 5 and we left Saturday for the baby shower. So..... This will be a "birth" day gift. Her due date is Sept. 30th so now I have plenty of time to finish.

Was finally able to get back to my sewing machine. Not sewing is not good for me! Put together a harmonic convergence with a piece of Ricky's hand-dyed I bought when he put it on sale. Started the quilting last night but the speed/aka/albuterol wouldn't let me relax so I put it up. Looked at it this a.m. and frogged it all out. Do-over! I'll be so very glad to be done with this medicine!!

Yesterday I finished the binding on the second of my conversation print charity quilts, and today I got the third one pin basted. Might get a bit of the quilting on that one done today.

This is the quilt top--I make a batch of 10 at a time by sewing 500 four inch strips of fabric together, then cutting them into four inch strips, and sewing them into tops. One batch makes 10 tops. I don't think there are any duplicates, either, LOL, but I've told a kid there might be, and it keeps them occupied for a very long time trying to find one.

Holy cow Pat, Wow, your amazing. You must have the patiece of a saint. They are really beautiful.
Okay, yesterday, was a day when my energy level was up So I finnished my freinds daughter wedding quilt top. Then I did a small quilt top for me, then I started my son's wall quilt for xmas.
So today I have to do the half square triangles to put in the art quilt for my son (i got it at the quilt show, i will put in my space when I have it done), then I have to put it on a towel to wrap it up and be able to leave it and open when I have time to sew it.
There are a few kits that I bought but two out of the three tops are done.
I have to go back to work on Monday.
Thank you everyone, simply, for letting me join this group. It has been therapy for me these last three weeks, if it were not for sewing every day I would sit and think about all the things you should not do. Self pity, is a   bad thing.
          thanks debbie

Today I sat down and quilted for two hours on the Christening quilt while I watched "How to Make an American Quilt." Honest to goodness, I had never heard of this movie, but now I have to find it on DVD . My kids were in and out so much I know I missed big chunks - I need to watch it after they go to bed. My dh got back from his doctor's appointment and saw the last 15 minutes or so of it and he even loved it! Then he asked me - what would a block or quilt about about our love look like? Hmmm... now my mind is racing... I see a Rhapsody on the horizon if I ever get the time  First though I need to get Aunt Mary's and the Christening quilts done. Off to work!!

Mandy I know I've been watching the movie this summer too as it has repeated on HBO. It's a sweet story and of course I wanted to see more of the quilt. I'd like to read the book too.

Since finishing my August BOM on Sunday, I have been debating which one of my PIW's (works in progress) to work on. I got 2 more blocks cut out and marked for my Dear Jane quilt. (Hand pieced and hand applique) Then I squared up my "Jubilee Tree" quilt that I got back from my quilter. Put on the binding, and it is ready to do the hand sewing on it. But since the binding is black it will take me a while to finish, need good light for it. I think today I will get some of Square in a Square blocks put together. The units are all done for the rest of the blocks, just putting the units together for 13 of the blocks. I needed to make sure I had enough of one of my fabrics.

Hope everyone has a good day.

That is my all time favorite move, the only thing I don't like is at the end she drags the quilt in the dirt.

I sewed on the binding to my turtle quilt yesterday. I am almost finished with my August needle turn BOM, I have the babies breath and the oval center of the vase. Maybe tomorrow on will be finished.

Debbie what kind of vitamins do you take :-) I wish I had an ounce of that energy. Can you bottle some of it and send it over LOL!

I've managed to spend about 15 minutes so far today on my BOM! Very busy day with Mom's stuff.

Well I was thinking what a lazy slug I am today. I should be upstairs sewing the borders on my quilt. Instead I was down here wtching some of last night's olympics waiting for my dh to get off the phone so we can watch what we missed. While watching (listening really) I was playing games on the computer. Well I needed to pause the recording because swimming is about to start so I rewatched Alex's segments on cables and feathers because I might try one on the borders of my miniature. I was thinking of feathers but think I might do cables instead if I can figure out how to go around a corner with them. I thought I had seen it somewhere, but didn't today.

Well I finally got around to doing some sewing. I have been in a mood. So :? I have been working on these applique daisey petals. (probably what put me in the mood) :? Anyway one of my friends was here whose hubby is in the Navy. I realized that I had not made her son a quilt yet  I help the Dr. deliver him :!: So I sewed like made and Would have had it done before they left had there not been an emergency and they had to leave 12 hours early. :x So now I get to mail it to him. I will post a picture soon as my son find my camera at his girlfriends house. Kids gotta love them

Sylvia, they come in spurts of feeling well , llike yesterday, I did not sew a thing, tooooo tired from day before ops: , did too much.
But today is the last day of my so called time off, so I will try to do some work on my son's art quilt and try to cut some more tops out so when I have time I can just sew, (that seems to work out the best for me) Tomorrow I will be taking the car in for repairs, so as a treat on my way home I visit the local quilt stores, there goes more money, sometimes the quilt visit is more than the car repair   !!!! I have purchased more patterns, need mmmmoooorrrre fabric!!!!!   Debbie

Well I didn't get any sewing done today. Spent the day working on the floor plan for the quilt show. I met with two other women and we are about half done with laying out the show. And we worked from about 9:15 to 5 with a break for lunch. Hopefully we'll get it finished tomorrow. Over half the quilts have been assigned a number then we have to decided where on the floor they go. It will be a long day again tomorrow, then we've got movies to usher.

I'm enjoying needle-turn applique during the Olympics! I have all my fabrics for the Ovarian Cancer Teal Project and I just keep going to my quilting books and finding patterns that look like fun! Heck I may have a whole quilt ready by the time the Olympics are over!
