Congratulations BJ! You are definitely on a roll! Have fun with your exhibits, too!
Lotti and Marilyn, thanks for posting such wonderful pictures! Marilyn, I have a newborn fawn picture above my daybed in my studio. Someone at DH's work place took the photo, and then Costco blew it up and printed it to canvas. It was for a charity event, and DH bought it.
Last week my walking buddy and I stopped in at a neighborhood yard sale and look what I found for $10. It even has the original 1976 sales receipt with it. Works great. I need to get a manual and get the tension to work a little better, though. The light even works! Her name is Genie, and she is adorably retro!
Have a great weekend!
Dawn

We decided on a theme right away. Now my partner isn't so sure and we mostly chat about lifebut also a few random ideas on a theme. We chose more style of quilt the first time when I posted originally. We will meet at the Grand Rapids AQS show in August and I think that will help give us more ideas. We both have a lot of health issues and family likeness that we share and she has been a huge blessing to me and she says I am to her as well. We are so thrilled with the friendship, the quilt chat is background.

I agree...Not very strict on the miniature guidelines. I think they are after more quantity of participants. :silly:

Good morning everyone! It's so nice to see you all back at the "retreat".
Dawn your Genie is so cute! What a nice find. Marilyn your flowers are so pretty. Rosemary loved your Dead Bod pictures. I remember that sign in Las Vegas. What a clever idea!
I've been working on making more bowls. I finished up some small projects that needed to get done. Now I have started the cross stitch birth sampler for my newest grandson due in less than 2 weeks. I've made one of these for each grandchild. It's fun to go into their rooms and see them hanging on the wall. This is my sixth one. I've been spending quite a bit of time sorting through my mother's stuff. She has many pictures, photographs, pencil drawings and watercolors from my grandfather. I'm sorting the photographs to go to long lost cousins. It's bittersweet to see all the family that I knew and loved. I've also been working on putting together content for my new website. That's exciting and boring.... ha! Writing about my quilts isn't nearly as much fun as making them!
I hope the coming week is good for each of you!

Barb! That is awesome! My yearbooks were ruined in a flood in the early 80's so I really miss having those memories. Would you tell me more about this yearbook and your daughter's involvement?
What a small world this is and how wonderful that we have this forum to connect.
Thank you! GenevaGeneva

Marilyn - your flowers are so lovely!! I have just had the 2nd summer of my poppies. I love them - they are white with very dark purple centers; almost black. But the first one just opened the day we drove in-laws to Ohio (last Friday) and on Monday when we brought them home and returned to our home, the poppies were nearly done. I assumed they'd all burst forth that weekend. Plus we had some storm go through that must have been hard on them. You have a lovely patch!!
I have a few more new flowers to plant today but must get a quilt done for a customer and then on to some of my work. Plus having a slow start to the day since I just put my foot in my mouth with my husband. Oopsie!
