Thank you everyone for all the nice compliments. It was so awesome to see all my quilts together. I love color!!
Sharon, you will do fine! Keep at it!
Lotti, I love your pictures. I've always wanted to ask, how do you get so close to those animals? I'm sure you use a special lens, but still. It seems as if they could reach out and get you! I love how you took pictures of dandylions. Here in the US dandylions are a sign of neglect of your lawn. And I have always wondered why. I realize they are a weed, but still. Anyway, thanks for the eye candy.
My husband's cataract surgery went well. Yay! He's amazed at how well he can see! (I hope he doesn't notice too much that I look older than I used to!
hmy: )
hugs to you all.... genevaGeneva

Lotti, you are so correct about the cataract surgery. As far as surgeries go, it's very simple and painless and the benefits are amazing. My husband is amazed at how well he sees and how it has changed his life. 25 years ago and more, blindness was all that could be expected. And thanks for the information about the farfara! I love that name!
I belong to a small quilt group, we call ourselves the Gang of 5. We decided this year to try new techniques. Each of us would come up with something and we would have 2 months to make it. They are small pieces. Reminds me of our mug rugs. The first go around was my idea. It was fusing torn batiks to make a branch/tree. I made mine to be reminiscent of Van Gogh's starry night. I'm not as pleased with it, but next time I would know how to do it better. Always learning!

Then our next technique was making waves by turning under the curves, pressing them, and sewing it down to the next layer. It was fun. I added some embellishment for fun. And of course "whizzed around the outside edge" ala Wendy's instructions.

I'm also working on a bedrunner for my niece. I am ready to quilt it now and as usual I am stumped. But I will figure it out!

Hi there!
I wanted to share my latest obsession. My friend Gretchen taught a few of us how to make these bowls. They are made from clothesline and are addictive. I've made two. They are about 7" wide and 1 1/2" high.
These are the tops and the bottoms of the bowls.

Aren't they fun!
Hope all is well with you!

Beautiful Geneva, I've made a few over the years. They're very satisfying and my friends are impressed.
I'm planning to teach making a confetti art quilt. Never done one so this is going to be fun and probably a bit messy. I'll do one first of course and make samples. Any pitfalls

Beat you to it :P I joined before they started pairing up  Exchanges can be contagious. :silly: and besides they called it a miniatures group although it seem a bit large for a miniature to me!Originally posted by "twiglet" post=140883Morning all
I just joined the TQS miniature quilt exchange. Are any of you joining in, I see Lorchen has joined. As if I haven't done enough exchanges with mug rugs, rows, Chinese whispers etc.
