This was NOT the row from Dawn! It's a silk fusion piece I'm working on. I tried for uploading this one, the row, and one of some flowers that bloomed today. TQS is having issues, similar to my thread dilemma. I'll try later, or tomorrow.

Sorry Dawn, it is a beautiful row, and I thank you for it.

Thank you, Luann! I am so glad you received it. I'll try to post my picture of it here. Definitely "flavor of me!" If I have success I will also post it on the row forum.

Well, pooh! The one time I forgot to take a picture of a row I made and sent! Guess it was destine to never be seen by anyone but you me!

Thanks, everyone! She did love it, and fingers crossed it fits her bed properly. Won't know that for a couple more weeks, but she did say she'd like something for her master bedroom, too, and once she gets colors figured out, she'll let me know (and once she is back in the US, sometime around July). So that's promising.

I promise I charged her fairly, Geneva. In fact, when she first asked and I broke down my rate for her and estimated what time it would take, she insisted I wasn't paying myself enough and increased the rate. Then when I told her that, as I had quoted a price, if it took longer than I estimated I would honor the estimate, she reprimanded me for that too. When I told her that it had shrunk up in the width, and I would discount if it didn't fit the bed properly, and showed her the photo of the fit, she said it seemed fine and insisted I not discount either (I did feel bad, though, I used a different batting and it shrank more than usual). If she ends up unhappy with the fit, once she gets it all the way to its new home, I will address that then, but she seemed happy and understanding about it. She's really a dream customer....I wish all of you who sew for others could have nothing but customers like her!

Luann, I love your silk fusion piece, even if we didn't get to see the row from Dawn! Beautiful!

I finished a repurposed towel into a stylish head wrap. . .actually, I made two out of one towel.
You can read about it here:
          https://terryknott.blogspot.com/2017...inish-for.html

Paint and embroidery was involved. This project was like participating in my own private retreat! Thanks, JoJo!

Weeeeeeeee! Happy birthday to me - I've got my new machine :woohoo: , a Brother f420 with knee lift, 140 stitches (although I cannot work out the differences on a couple of them), and 5 fonts which includes Cyrillic and Japanese  it also has the facility to design my own borders  :side: :silly: :woohoo: :woohoo: I feel some nerdery coming on ie making a complete stitch out book, which is completely out of character for me

Happy belated birthday, Rosemary! And, i agree! We need to see some pictures of your new toy!!!

I have decided not to make a quilt for the Hoffman Challenge this year. I pour my heart into things like that, and I have decided to spend the time on finishing some of my UFOs for my Featured Quilter booth at our guild show in September. That's right! I have been honored by being asked to be the Featured Quilter! Too cool! This should be fun!

Also, Masquerade (my 2015 Hoffman Challenge) was juried into the Mancuso Mid-Atlantic Quit Show. I mailed it yesterday. That's pretty cool too! It gets to go play with the big girls again.

                          Life is good!

Oh what fun, Rosemary to get a new machine for your birthday! Squeal!!

Dawn, I think it is fantastic that you are the honored quilter for your guild show. I think we must find you as nice online as they do in person and what a joy to have a display of all your work together. How large is your guild? I met the featured quilter at the Des Moines guild show 2 yrs ago and she is so sweet. We remain friends and I got to see her last year at the show. Quite an honor, I'd say! Congrats!
