Virtual Retreat Aug thru Dec 2015 Info on first post
Everyone is welcome here. We share what's going on with each of us. Just like a physical retreat, we share pictures of projects, family, nature, and inspirations. We also ask for and give feed back on our projects. We keep each other informed of cool videos, interesting websites, etc etc etc.
Join in anytime, watch over our shoulders, encourage us, tell us about your project that you would take to a retreat to get some work done on it. And if you like chocolate, here's some M&Ms from the group's stash of chocolates!!!Tags: None

Just checking in to say Hi :silly: Looking forward to new month of sharing achievements and get advice as well as hanging out around the bowl of chocolate.
On my want-to-do list this month is:
sewing up a t-shirts that is cut
making a simple blouse to wear for a 70th birthday we are off to beginning of Sep
compile my notes for my autumn capsule and choose fabrics/patterns
continue my digitizing adventure; a little every day
get back to FMQ (have a small sandwich basted so it's just setting up the machine and get books of the shelf so I have a proper work surface); a little every day
AND I really want to get back to my Welsh Quilt that I abandonned when I lost my way with the samples I had made
Here's my August desktop background (this years challenge for me is to create a new desktop background each month so I can get really comfy with Inkscape and explore more of its features
So now I've committed myself in writing what are your plans? Spill the beans and have a M&M

Happy 724th Birthday, Switzerland!
Today is our National Holiday and as it's rather cold and rainy I decided to celebrate by ironing a pile of batiks while listening to another Flavia De Luce mystery...
A good day was had by all, except the murderer and the murdered of course...
If you've never heard of Flavia, I'm sure you're not alone, I discovered her about a year ago, she's an 11-year old sleuth with a passion for chemistry and dead bodies... The German translation of the first book goes by the title "Mord im Gurkenbeet", which translates to: 'murder in the cucumber bed' - now how could I pass on picking that up... Anyway - I think they're great fun - and with all the chemistry explanations on this and that poison or whatnot - even educational great to listen to when I'm sewing - ironing - cutting
Now back to the ironing board ... I need a bunch more different batik triangles for my next quilt - and before I can start cutting - they all need to be ironed ... inch:

Luann...yes...I hope to do some dyeing as well this month
Marianne...I completely took the ties apart, ironed them out, made them into approx. 21/2 inch strips, then sewed them onto an 18x30 in-r-foam. It is a quilt as you go, improve style. Hope it looks ok when I get it finished

Well getting along, still a bit sore when doing things standing up, but getting better.
I had to put the 2-fabric appliqué wall hanging aside, to work on the baby quilt for Abi, the great grand daughter. Still have some hand quilting to do on it. And do the binding. That is on top of the list, before anything else will be worked on. Sorry no pictures yet, but will post when they are finished .
