    The Hexpert show 1507

Just sat down with a cuppa and watched this show. What a great show - I learnt so much from this! I can even see myself trying this although I swore I would never do another paper pieced project again after a very disastrous attempt back in the 80ties during a WI class where my hexies were hung up as the way NOT to do them

I hope this format will continue with the in-depth teaching of the technique like this show. Pat Sloan also gave me some ideas with her very different take on hand appliqué.

Thanks for a super instructional show - Marianne

Just got back from vacation & watched this show. I thought it was great to have the in-depth instruction. This is the way I learned EPP & it is so much better, I think, than basting thru the paper pieces. Last year during my lunch hours at work, I made hexies. They're still mostly in a baggie. Now I know what I can do with them. :-) And the quilts she made - Wow!

Marianne, that is a terrible thing to have experienced. Does WI stand for 'Quilt Police'? There's nothing like public humiliation to encourage a person to keep at it - NOT!

I enjoyed the show too - already being a hex-a-gone-mad person.

I loved seeing this Hexie show, and really enjoyed the Pat Sloan segment. Having said that, spent awhile this past summer trying to figure out many ways of doing hexies and finally am totally HooKeD on Inklingo (had a software pack from a few years ago). I don't know that I'll every get a quilt done, but I can hand-stitch a round of hexies in a very short while & not see a stitch on the front. Anyone else doing this technique? Rita, your hexie quilt is awesome.

I enjoyed watching this show as well! I have actually finished! a small table runner (12" x 30") using 1" hexies and Inklingo. My piecing technique was using Inklingo and a combination of hand and machine piecing. I loved it that the threads did not show on the front. I'm always on the looking for new techniques in EPP, and Cheryl's method has been added to my list if techniques to try. I also liked the episode with Pat Sloan. Awesome show from start to finish.

Yes, Lois, someone should definitely add more hours to the day!! It was a great show, and I like the way she basted the fabric around the paper. I also liked Pat Sloan's appliqué method and I plan to try that, too. Just a few more hours per day, pleeeeeze!!!

I really liked learning her method of basting the fabric to the hexie w/o stitching through the paper. Now I'm a bit more interested in getting back to my 1/4" hexies! I love the little size and w/o stitching through the paper, that basting will be even better. Great show! Natural... like I was there visiting with all of you. Well done!

Am loving this show as have been on a sedentary hexie journey for weeks! This is my storage box which is a Dr Bob Superior thread case. It stores my hexies (color coded with honor to Libby!). My tools, thread, and papers are in the longer center space. After this show you bet I'll design more variety!!!

I love your hexie box Lynn. I bought some templates a few years ago, and have not tried them yet. I think I will get them and some fabric scraps and get started. It sounds like a great project for when I recover from a knee replacement. I need to have a variety of things to do, so if the one things does not appeal to me, maybe another will. I will bring my Laptop to my bedroom with the TQS DVDs to watch. I have a TV and DVD player in there, but I would have to get up to change the DVD. Laptop is easier.
