This is a plug for Cheryl See's book "Not Just Hexies." It really has some great projects that you can finish more quickly.

I watched the show this morning, gorgeous Paducah winner and little sister! Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

She bastes like I have, I only learned a few days ago that some epp'ers baste through the papers, I can't think of why?
On the other hand I've gone on to the glue stick method now I like the basting part, but glue is so much faster...all the quicker to get to the stitching bits together

I was taught to baste through the papers when I was first introduced to EPP, and if you are trying other shapes then I think it is fairly necessary. By the way the 1718 coverlet the basting went through the papers but not through the front , and the papers were left in.

I go through the papers as well and think that it helps to make a cleaner edge. I wonder how one would go through the paper but not through the front fabric??? Maybe just catching a piece of the paper.... inquiring minds want to know! LOL

Carefully :P but consider the paper was a bit different then.

i also baste thru the paper when EPPing, but I'm doing hexagons with 2-inch sides. They get a little loosey-goosey if you don't nail them down to the paper.
