Today was a marvelous day in Paducah! 70 degrees and bright sunshine. Plenty of stars, too!

Connie, Yes, your reporting is amazing. I would love to go there and meet TQS friends but is Paducah ready for bigger crowds. Seriously, I wish someone would convince me that it is possible to get accomodations during Quilt Week. And I imagine the airport is small. How does this happen? How are the crowds accomodated. I've been wanting to go but I've been thinking it should be anytime other than Quilt Week. The Museum is always there.

Lois, advance planning and luck are what is needed. I "inherited" my hotel room from a friend who had been coming to the show for many years and always reserved a block of 3 rooms. When she was ready to drop to 2 rooms, I got the other room. Most hotels will ask you to sign a contract for your room well in advance; I will turn in a reservation form for 2014 before I leave town on Sunday. But I've also talked to ladies who were able to get a room last minute after a cancellation.

Thanks Connie this has been such fun for us, on par with the trip to Limbanias.

                      Enjoy the rest of it

OMG, Connie! You have done such a wonderful job of showing us around Paducah and the show! And, it looks like you are having an absolutely wonderful time! I know about being tired at the end of the day, though! There is just so much to see and do, that by the end of the day a person is over stimulated and ready for some serious down time! Thank you for sharing some awesome quilts, and pictures of some awesome people, many whom I know and admire! I have to say, my favorite is the back of Janet's quilt! It is a masterpiece in itself! Love the bling on the back, and have done that myself on a few quilts. Keep up the good work!

Connie, What wonderful reporting you do. I tried for several years to get a room for quilt week, but finally gave up. So I am delighted to see such wonderful pictures that capture the moment. Thanks!

As a matter of curiosity - what is the fall out limit for getting rooms near Paducah during quilt week? 1 hour's drive, 1.5hrs drive....?
