Ricky - What brand and series did you buy???? I've been thinking about a large format printer for a long time but coulcn't justify the expense. The printer I have now is acting like age is catching up with it and I now have a goodprojects to do. I think I can justify buying a new one now!!! Let us know how yours works! Great shows. Carolyn

I was having problems getting things to match up on the seam lines. While looking at the edges and trying to figure out where it should go together, I finger pressed the fabric back from the edge of a top piece and layed it on the bottom piece and got the lines, etc. matched up perfectly. A light bulb came on and said 'why not glue it in place before I sew it??' It works perfectly! I was going to use the stick glue but it was dried up so I took elmer's washable glue and put a very, very thin line of it on the bottom fabric out from where the stitching would be and placed the top fabric down on it lining up the stitching line and markings. When dry I opened it up and stitched. It came out perfectly. I don't remember anything being said about glue in the show but I could be wrong.

Well, I'm sorta shy about saying - but I got an Epson 11880 and I only justified it because I'm going to be do a lot of other things for business purposes. - Sorta like those who get long arms and hope their work will pay for it. It didn't hurt that Epson was giving a $3000 rebate if purchased before the end of June 2008.Originally posted by CarolynArtsRicky - What brand and series did you buy???? I was so excited about the trip to Biltmore House because they always have flowers in bloom and I wanted pictures for Beth's technique. We were about a week late for the rose garden but there were a few still in bloom. Did find orchids and some other blooms in the conservatory. One think I don't like about Biltmore House is that you cannot take photographs inside the house. The ceilings are amazing and would be so inspirational. I'm not sure if they would let you sketch. I can't so didn't ask. At the motel I pickeup a booklet about Cherokee and their history. The graphic symbol on the front and back would make a great quilting design.

I'm late getting on this topic, getting caught up on the shows! I've had a series of quilts in my head for YEARS but I thought I'd probably do photo-mosaics, and now I'm re-thinking that! now, what did I do with those photos???
Also, re: the newspaper photos, I doubt this is the case for Mandy (unless the photographer SOLD the pic to the paper, which I highly doubt) but if a photo is shot by a staff photographer or a paid "stringer" photographer, then the publication owns the copyright, not the photographer him/herself. Sometimes even the photographer doesn't fully realize that, so they might actually give you permission that's not theirs to give...

I just thought that I would add that in the UK we have to be so careful with photographing children - it was pointed out to me when I was in the local swimming pool and wanted to take a photo of my grandson - I had to ask permission of the manager - of course we have to be careful these days, but where will it end? x
