I can't say for sure the photographer did, but the dance instructor announced to all the parents before she submitted the photo what she was doing, so I think permission was implied. Besides, there were no individual faces showing, just a line of girls in frilly dresses on tiptoe looking out the window 8)

I had DH sit down and watch Beth's presentation. He told me what a great method to do one of the quilts I've had in my head and have taken photos for. DUH!!!! I ordered the book and can't wait to try it. WooHoo!!!!

I've learned so much from TQS, and have tried many new techniques because of the fantastic guests -- but Beth Wheeler's photo transfer method really grabbed me! The next day I made my quilt "Theotokos" (in my profile) using the technique, and I've got four more in the works.

My only comment is, make sure you have a lot of color printer cartridges before you print a project! You certainly don't want to run out before all of your panels are printed. And, man, those cartridges are pricey!

Good advice. I'll remember that before I start my first project.

Ruthann, that is stunning! My dh is Ukrainian Catholic, so I am familiar with that icon- a copy of it is painted on the wall at his church, and I have always admired it.

Ruthann - You did a great job. It is wonderful.
Also when you print photos use the brand name cartridges. DO NOT use the ones that are refilled in the computor shops. They do not have the same colors that are in the originals. They may be cheaper but they aren't worth it for art work. At least the ones that I got weren't!!!

Thank you, Alex -- I am truly humbled. I thank you and Ricky for providing this wonderful resource where I have learned so many new techniques!

Carolyn, you're absolutely right! Do NOT buy refilled cartridges. Not only are the colors not true, they're also not as colorfast as HP and Epson inks (and probably other original manufacturer cartridges).

I am having the same problem and I think I need a program that will print poster size prints. Apparently that function does not come with the printer program. Am I right?? Please help us!! I'm dying to print one of my flower photos in a large size!!

I tried the HP printer 2x2, and it didn't turn out right (obviously user error!). I ended up pulling the picture into PowerPoint and dividing it manually.

Make sure to print a test run (using grayscale, so you don't use up your color ink) before running your fabric sheets through!

I think Beth would be thrilled at how she inspired all of us!

I also had to adjust my page orientation from "portrait" to "landscape" to get my photo how I wanted it. I definitely got good use of my "print preview" option.
