Nancy, your nephew's quilt is awesome! I loved the applique, quilting and striped points. Thanks for showing us your process. It's always interesting to hear how someone else thinks through a project!

I used Cindy Needham's Ultimate Shape stencil and blogged about it here:

            Hi all -

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! I had a wonderful visit with my family and am not getting back into the swing of things at home. It's going to be hard to go back to work tomorrow!

Anyway, I just finished my first blog post for the year. In this post, I show how I made the faced edge on my nephew's quilt. I wanted to make sure to record what I did for the next time that I want to do this! If interested, you can read the post here.

            Thanks!

              Nice work in 2016 Terry!

Thanks for the facing tutorial Nancy. Your directions and pictures make it easy to follow!

I had a little hiccup with my quilting project.

I chose my word for the year and posted about it. I also listed my goals for the year:

We've had 10 inches of snow in the last day. . .totally not the norm when we might get 4 inches of rain in the whole month with a temperature range of 35-47 degrees. Brrr this 16-31 degree range is way too cold for me! I did post about I plan to accomplish this quarter:

                      Hi all -

I've got my first finish for the year -- Star Spangled Banner, my Hospice quilt. I wrote about it here. I'm really pleased with how the quilting and finishing turned out and I think they'll like the quilt. I also wrote a pattern for this quilt and posted it on Craftsy. I've been thinking about trying my hand a pattern writing, so I'm really excited to finally have my first one! Stop by if interested.

                        Hi all -

I got my two-color binding tutorial written and posted. If interested, you can read it here.

Here's what I'm talking about when I say two-color binding:

It ended up being a lot easier than I expected!

I followed your red/blue binding blog and you made it look so easy, Nancy. Thank you for taking the time to document it--definitely something I'd like to try!

I did think about it -- for a small fraction of a second!! It actually would have been cool, but I'm not that crazy! Yet....
